Bummer, further to my post above, I have a feeling that the 'making inactive then active again trick', doesn't seem to make your books go to the top of the list anymore. There is now an option to make all book active or inactive, as well as to do them individually, but either way I'm not finding any of mine listed in latest books.

Can someone else try it and see if you find the same thing?

Think they might be onto us :o

well i tried it last night and got a bite for one of my books... not sure if that was just a coincidence or not but i got the bite within half an hour of relisting it which is normal for newly listed books...

  • purple - I think that you may be right about them not putting the re-activated books at the top of the list. I only reactivated it a few minutes ago so it may get picked up soon.

I like all the changes, it will encourage people not to offer tatty books without mentioning the condition and the fact that you can put a comment on the feedback as well is good too. I had a look at my score and I have 110 swaps, I didn't know that I'd done that many! one of the ratings was just 2 stars so someone wasn't happy with the book or the way I sent it but I can't recall what the book was that went to that swapee so there's not a lot I can do about it now.

    edit

I just had a look at the 'add books' page and there are guidelines as to how to classify your book and it says that mouldy smelly books etc are not to be swapped (maybe we have been overheard!!!!) This is probably why you can't reactivate a book - it won't have a condition category added to it as a new listing would

Holsale - the changes were only effective today, so you would have slipped through in the nick of time. I relisted a few on Sunday night and had loads of swap requests yesterday, there's no doubt that it renews interest.

AT - perhaps that's it - maybe once you list a book in the new format you will be able to 'relist' - I'll give it a go. Or perhaps they've got wise to us. Time will tell....

I see that there is also a new discussion forum too. Oh and they've put a disclaimer saying that the link to amazon isn't necessarily the same edition, or even the same book. Feel sure that they are reading this thread.

  • I've just moved a book from inactive to active but clicked on the 'details' to add a bit to it. You all have to go and look at the 'damage' section, it's fantastic! well done to the swapit people!!!! (if you are looking here it would be great if you could make yourselves known)

I can't remember all the grades of damage, there were about 8 or 9 but they included taped pages, may smell of smoke, food stains etc....marvelous!
  • ooh heck - i realised id done over a 100 swaps too - started panicing at all that money id spent posting them, and then realised id sold a good few of them too so isnt soo bad

but ive now got to go through and rate each book for damage - ohh heck out come the boxes again

i may be here some time
See the stars they’re shining bright
    Everything’s alright tonight
  • Hello everyone

Thanks to this thread, I have put a few of DH CDs on Amazon and have sold a few. I had an email today to say that one of them should have been a double CD and there was only 1 in there - I can't swear to it as I didn't realise it was a double and just checked that the main CD was in there. The buyer has said shall he post it back to me marked recipient to pay - I know I will have to refund him, but I am not sure how to go about it. Should I tell him to post it back marked recipient to pay or is there another way?

    Thanks for your help

  • Hi crispy ambulance (I'd love to know how you got that name!)

If you go to your sellers account page then transactions summary you will find this transaction, you can refund him from that page.

Hard luck with this, it's little errors like this that will make you a better seller because you'll double check everything from now on (go on, ask me how I know this :o )

  • OK, I'll confess - I posted a CD case with no CD in it, it was still in the player.... I grovelled and she was fine about it.
