476 books to be exact - beat that!0 -
I have actually swapped with this person  at his request and managed to offload a book that I think I must have got from one of you when I first started and worth 1p
The book I got is listed at about £4 on amazon but as it happens it is one that I wanted anyway... however... the packaging was almost non existent and the book and packaging were put through the letterbox seperately! :mad:0 -
I've just had another J R Hartley type book sale
It was a book on teaching reading that I picked up for not a lot of money, there were no others on Amazon (or bookfinder) so I pulled a price out of the air and sold it a few hours later to the author, he didn't have it as 'buyer waiting' so he must have been checking on the off-chance.
It went for £13 so now I'm wondering just how much he would have paid for it.0 -
After a miserable few weeks after Xmas with no sales atall have sold 4 today! and 4 at weekend. Will never be able to give up the day job (unless I shift my obscure book on bloody diamonds!). It certainly is very addictive so much so that the essay I have had to do for the last 8 weeks and which has to be in on Monday remains undone! I always say I'll do it tomorrow but there aren't very many tomorrows left! HELP :eek:I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Fantastic! But if it was priced much higher he might not have bought it... you never know with these things.
Had a good day on Saturday... bought 5 text books at £1 each and they listed at £16, £19, £20, £25 and £50 and sold the one at £20 the next day... heres hoping for the others0 -

There is no logic to any of these sales is there? this week I have sold books thet have been listed for 3 years, I didn't alter the listing or reduce the price, it just happened.
Becky - do you want us to chastise you severely for not doing your essay 8 weeks ago or recommend books on time management and motivation?0 -

I'd much rather you offered to write the essay for me AT. I don't need a book on motivation am highly motivated...........in book selling lol. Is no book in the world that could motivate me to write what I have to write on!
Maybe if I'd been allowed to go on a course I was actually interested in I would be highly motivated to write about it.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Sorry if this has been asked before.
What are the benefits of selling books on Amazon as opposed to ebay? I've sold a few books on ebay but I haven't tried marketplace.
Thanks0 -

Welcome to Bookselling Addicts Anonymous. From a personal point of view I found putting books on ebay time consuming and had trouble with taking photographs, listing etc and books didnt sell for much. I work full time and find amazon much easier as you only have to put the ISBN in and wait for a SOLD email. However there are people on here far more experienced on this than I am, as I am a mere novice I'd wait for their replies.I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

Hi carnwaj - the key benefit is that you don't pay a penny till your book (or CD, DVD etc) is sold and you don't have to faff around with photos. The fees are higher than ebay but if you have a light book you'll make money on the postage allowance that they give you. Have a look at the manual here and you'll see how you can sell a book for 1 penny and still make a little money for yourself0
