(yes, I know £1 is expensive, had already checked it out on Amazon, knew no others listed, and allegedly, two buyers waiting.) If I don't sell by October, well, it's my Dad's birthday, and he likes the subject matter, so that's his present sorted!!!I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!0

I have never seen a book with people WAITING for it...that must be pretty exciting and no matter what you paid for it you are providing the person with the object of their desire which is worth SOMETHING!!!!!
In effect YOU have sourced this book for them...spent time and money tracking it down for them so you deserve a good price. :TLaughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
It's probably been mentioned before, but I find the bookfinder website a good place for checking out values when amazon doesn't have any listed.0

I've had two books with buyers waiting and a Cd as well! I sold both the books immediately - one went for over the full RRP because that was the price that Amazon said the buyer was willing to pay! I was very pleased because it was only a pound or so from a charity shop a few years ago and it wasn't a very good read!
I haven't yet sold the Cd because it is quite 'rare' and I'm not prepared to sell it for the price that the waiting buyer wants to pay! I'm not desperate to get rid of it so can hang in until somebody else comes along!
It is a lovely surprise to look up a book that you own to discover that there are no other copies listed and buyer(s) waiting. :j0 -
i listed a book that had a buyer waiting - they didnt buy it immediately - thought i must have listed it too high but i put what amazon suggested, and its sold now less than a week after listing - im pleased too
its another one thats sat on my shelf for a few yearsSee the stars they’re shining brightEverything’s alright tonight0 -
Well, thanks for all your advice, it has sold at 3.54pm today - not been online so not had chance to up the price, but wouldn't have felt comfortable asking for more! Understand everything everyone says, and if it had been my book from new, then maybe I might have done, but I don't ever feel that I can accurately judge the condition of books I have purchased second hand. I cannot believe that anyone would want this book so much, it is ten years old. It is a snooker book - Stephen Hendry, so if there were 2 buyers waiting, that must mean there might still be one waiting (or not willing to pay my price) in case anyone else comes across one!!
I'm obviously not cut out to make a career out of book selling! Best not tell my hubby I *might* have made more!! I think I will have made after postage etc about £5 profit - 500% isn't bad!! Yes, yes, it could have been more, but I am happy with that!
To be quite honest (and I know we don't have control over it), I find the postage charge a bit of a rip off (well, not for us sellers), which is why I very rarely buy from the marketplace - Amazon's delivery charge disappears now on such a low order value that I would rather buy new. But then again, I am usually looking for books that are still available new, rather than ones like this, which obviously isn't!
Think I am starting to not make sense, so had better go.
Finally, AT - I wouldn't have done this except you outed Voodoozoe (I think it was), Happy Birthday!!!! I’m new to selling on Amazon and have sold about 20 things in about 2 weeks, but have had only 2 ratings back – so how do you get the buyers to give you feedback? I always give feedback, is it normal for people not to bother?0
