Hi seabiscuit - they're swapped, they won't really sell for you but they are useful books to have around, very MSE 'old style'.0

I have a book that is very good/like new but has a big grease splodge through one of the pages - is there a way to remove it? If not can I list it as very good but mentioning the spot? Hmm.I'm sorry but I'm not Mike!0

I'd try ironing the pages with kitchen roll either side of the greasy pages - needless to say on a low heat. This might lessen the problem rather than cure it. Does it smell? if so I know that I wouldn't like to buy it, a little bit of biro is one thing, chip fat is another....:rotfl:0

Very much doubt you'll get it out - oil is usually a nightmare to remove from anything!
I wouldn't bother trying to remove and would just list it as 'used-very good' and say in my description that it would have been listed as new but for a grease mark on one page. Would have thought it would only put off people who want it as a gift.
I've got a book listed that has clearly been dropped in the bath! It's a rare title and I've listed it as acceptable and stated exactly the state it's in - it's perfectly readable.0 -
hi there
I have books listed on amazon and have sold about 5 or 6. I was buying padded envelopes for 40 pence each from a small local post office as this was the cheapest I could find. But yesterday I found in lidl a pack of 5 padded a5 size envelopes for 99p which will also come in handy for swaps.£1 a day Christmas 2023 #190 -
Now my "joker" has filed a complaint to Amazeon, which i have responded to, but surely in that case if I lose (which I shouldn't) he'll have to return the book. Also he's saying I claimed it was the 2nd edition when it is the first. I never mentioned any edition number (item was simply listed used- very good), so he jumped to that conclusion as its the 2nd edition currently available from Amazon direct.

What a t*sser, I hate people who have nothing better to do than cause trouble for others. Its his own fault for not comparing the prices properly and rushing into buying without reading the info
