selling your stuff on Amazon...part 2

Recently listed all my 1p books and had a request today for a swap for one of them.
When I went in to check this book to make sure that it hadn't suddenly shot up in value, the amazon link went to another version of my book with a different isbn number, even though I'd entered it using the correct isbn. The version it linked to was a very recent one and the used prices were £2-3 - my version is still only worth a penny. I even tried relisting it to make sure that it definitely accepted the isbn I'd entered, and it did but still linked to the other 'better' version.
Just beware that you might receive a different version to what you're expecting through no fault of the person listing it and you might end up with another 1p duff 'buy'.0 -
Errrr.... yes I know this - go on, ask me how I know......
I think that maybe we should all declare our swapit names so that we all know that *our* books may be perfectly good books if you want to own and read them but if you are planning to sell them on then they should be avoided0 -

My OH has had some great swaps for his books as well as me - the postman isn't too thrilled, the van's here everyday, we're practically on first name terms now.

Someone tell me about Swapit??? Is it a lot of hassle. Do you just pay the postage? I am very busy with my work and I don't want to get into anything that will tip me over the postal edge....... :eek:Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Its dead easy and really there's nothing to lose. Basically you enter ISBN or just title and author and it will put your book on for you. When someone likes the look of your book they'll click a button which will send you a list of their books. The beauty of this is, to give you details of the book they give a link to Amazon where you just have a little looksee to check out potential prices!!!!!!
If you don't like any then you simply choose not to swap, if you do then you click on your choice and you both post your books off.
Give it a go with a couple of 1p books!!!Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -

Hello what are 1p books are they books that you can't get anything for but you make money on the postage? Here dead we lie because we did not choose
To live and shame the land from which we sprung.
Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose,
But young men think it is,
And we were young.

My swapit name is bookgnome (family joke - don't ask
)
ruby - yes, exactly, these are the perfectly good books that are selling on amazon for very little money because there are lots of them on the market.
If you put them up for swaps the recipient gets a good popular book for less than if they'd bought it on amazon because all they will pay is 2nd class postage on the book they they send to you.0 -
I'll give you all one guess as to what my Readit Swapit name is.
No Prizes for getting it right though!
I've included all my Amazon descriptions in my Swapit listings, but I do notice that there aren't actually many people who do this - maybe I will actually put some swappers off, but I'd rather be honest and up front, than have someone very disappointed when they received a book that wasn't in perfect condition. All mine are at the very least in a good readable condition!
Hi Purplepatch - yes I've noticed the different editions and have tried to be quite wary of swapping for another 1p version - it is hard sometimes, but if I find an edition that has a few Amazon options then I assume the Swapit one is the least valuable option if you get my drift!
Both sales and swaps seem to have dried up at the moment sadly. Still, got some Ebay stuff finishing this afternoon!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0033 come and join us :j make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the ebay and other auctions, car boot and jumble sales board0
