Just a note for the future. It cost me £2.90 to send the Haynes Manual. It was too heavy to go second class! I did reuse a puffy jiffy and that may have been heavier than some you can get, but I suppose either way they cost a fair bit to send.
I got a book this morning priced £1.00 and there are only two others on Amazon.
The cheapest is £24.83 and they are both in America!!
Now where is that buyer???:)
I like the bit about not wanting a "larmy" against your rating!:D Perhaps it should be know as being "larmed" or getting a "larm" instead of a negative.
great idea about 'getting a larmy' but lets hope none of us do get 'larmed' or 'alarmed'
now get that book listed and the buyer might find you
and just a question to all if that's ok
does anyone refuse bfpo? I've seen it mentioned in listings, and have sent one out myself to a bfpo address in the uk but can't remember if it cost more
i'll have to check if i get time.
i don't like discriminating against buyers in a listing, but whats the answer? and do you think sellers only say no to bfpo if they're stationed abroad?0 -
Mike - BFPO - here are the weights etc and pricing0

thanks apprentice tycoon
, its not a vast difference in price is it? i'm not sure i'd want to risk offending anyone for a few pence, but i suppose it helps if people need to know the exact postage cost.
i'm not too sure, but i think the same seller said the same about 'C.I.' any idea what ci is? i thought it might have been a typing error for southern ireland, who i think really are discriminated against postal wise.
southern ireland? that's not what its called either is it?
but you get the drift? 0 -

i've sent to there as well and can't say i've noticed a huge difference. i'd look for the c.o.p.'s but theres no point now is there?
it's all good info for future reference, so thanks apprentice tycoon.0 -
I once sent a book to someone with an army type address, but I think it cost the same

BFPO destinations are treated as mainland UK.
I served in Germany with the RAF and regularly had to debated this with various suppliers. For example, it took me a while to persuade Dell to send a PC system to me via Royal Mail because they thought there would be high postage charges. There were not and they did deliver in the end.“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be twenty one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

thanks for that Bernie
if i'm ever up against a seller that won't sell to bfpo, i'll match the price.
and to everyone else, i feel like that reporter outside of the old bailey, drenched, soaked through, numerous kids, and full of cold.
so, being as things are, i looked on ebay. how sad
but if anyone wants to be on a sure-fire winner, sell the 'how to stop smoking/eating' books. they seem to be flying out of the place

happy new year

Just wanted to say Happy New Year and also a big thank you to everyone who has posted on this and the other Amazon thread.
Thanks to all the useful information offered, I've managed to make about £75 profit since September. Here's to even bigger and better things in 2006 :beer:0
