lol, thanks for the tips larmy. Been ill over x-mas (so no alcohol waaah!) but sold 3 books, which was nice. Thankfully my ma posted em for me. Can't wait to go tramping round town and charity shops with my shiny new pda
looking for books for sale
Hope you lot all had a good x-mas. Can see some people still managed to show up here

My Ford Fiesta Manual sold for the third time tonight!!!! First time it was pending, second time the buyer wanted a refund as had bought the wrong manual - this one has completed!!! Fingers crossed.
By the way the stinky mouldy book was returned to me and I have shown and offered it to smell to several people and all of them say it smells fine and that it is in near new condition. That was a very strange experience I can tell you.
I am back selling and had six sales over the last two days.:)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Good for you larmy!!!!
Had my first GM sale Wednesday and sold two more yesterday...one of those was a "pending" that actually happened!!!
Pleased because if i keep selling steadily like I have been doing I'm earning enough to cover the cost of the internet which is good.
If anyone's wondering why I'm always on here so late recently its because I'm so desperate for work I am doing some shifts at my brother's pub  which is miles away from where I live so I get home late and am wide awake!!Laughing at my ancient signature...voodoobaby now 10 years old:eek:0 -
larmy - I'm pleased that you got back on the horse so to speak and get that manual in the post quick before they change their minds  Did you leave feedback for the people with the rare medical condition 'mould up the nose'?
voodoo - it's nice to hear that a pending turned out OK and a GM too, I've not sold anything on there yet.0 -
AT I took my books off GM - they were getting a bit out of hand and cluttering up the place. I think someone on here said it was hardly worth listing any on Amazon below 75p if you are not Pro merchant, so they all came off too and went to the charity shop. Though it sounds a great idea, I do not have the time to do the swap book thing.
The two books which bought me so much grief, together came to £1.07 profit, excluding the petrol to take them to Post Office and queueing for ages in the run up to Christmas. I am not sending my Haynes first class though as it would come to £2.71 and it is an old listing and I never mentioned 1st class in it.
AT I have been meaning to ask you - can you just keep on reslisting indefinitely until an item sells or is there a limit??? (eg. 2 x 60 days?)Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

plus with ebay you have to worry about the paypal fees too i've figured that you can take 10% off your total for combined ebay and paypal fees, sometimes more...
i do check though to see what's currently going then completed sales. i've been able to sell stuff on amazon that wouldn't go on ebay so it's all good!
ebay's going on the back burner, along with the remaining 1,000 jobs for now HOLsalebut thanks for the reply. i'm still tempted with the biographies, but i've forgotten how to search the completed listings
. i'll have a look back in the thread.

thats great news larmy  and great that you've got your enthusiasm for listing back
and re the smelly book, write the experience off as just a buyer with higher expectations than can be realised. i'm sure we'll all get at least one 'perfectionist', and if you know it was ok, thats all that matters. shame about the hassle though. i get annoyed at the way amazon themselves send out some books and the time they take.
talking of which, i've got 3 to send out :j one sold a bit similar to how apprentice tycoon mentioned, a couple of hours after listing.
but someone sent me a book that was obviously underpriced on the delivery front, so i'll send her a postal order for a couple of quid. i don't like to see ppl losing money on postage and as it's new years eve, i'm feeling generous
i'd better get my skates on, or skis, and get these posted. i don't want a 'larmy' against my ratings
have a great new year everyone. i hope it's a healthy, happy, and prosperous one for all, especially in this topic. :beer:0 -
Mike & All Amz
Just a note for the future. It cost me £2.90 to send the Haynes Manual. It was too heavy to go second class! I did reuse a puffy jiffy and that may have been heavier than some you can get, but I suppose either way they cost a fair bit to send.
I got a book this morning priced £1.00 and there are only two others on Amazon.
The cheapest is £24.83 and they are both in America!!
Now where is that buyer???:)
I like the bit about not wanting a "larmy" against your rating!:D Perhaps it should be know as being "larmed" or getting a "larm" instead of a negative.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
