If so, that is good isn't it!!!! :j
Well, that was my first reaction, then I decided that was too good to be true!!
I've emailed them to clarify but never seem to get much sense out of their helpdesk.0 -
purplepatch wrote:Anyone who took advantage of the 3 month special offer pro merchant thingy like I did? Have you had the email at the end of the first month that includes the paragraph:
Please note that your subscription will continue to be automatically
renewed. Should you wish to discontinue your subscription for the next
billing period, visit Your Account under the Auctions or zShops and
click on View or update your Amazon.co.uk Subscriptions. If you cancel
your subscription and resubscribe later, you will be charged a new £12.50
(plus applicable VAT) monthly subscription fee.
Am I understanding it correctly - does that mean that if I cancel at the end of the 3 cheaper months and I resubscribe (especially if they do the half price deal again) at some time in the future, I'm going to get charged £12.50 plus vat in addition to the normal pro merchant monthly rate?
This first month of pro merchant has gone well (sold around 50 items this month), but not sure I'll be able to keep it up for ever as have been selling a lot of my unwanted cds - that will probably see me through the 3 months to make the deal worthwhile. After that only time will tell really.
It doesn't read very well does it? it's hard to make out exactly what they mean
I know that when I saw the half price offer it said that it was only open to people that had never been pro-merchants before, so it is once in a lifetime offer, they are out to stop people cancelling and rejoining when there is an offer.0 -
A Happy Christmas to everyone!
I have finally sold a couple of books - my first sales since 12th December
I thought I'd been blacklisted somehow (only kidding).
Things had been going really well and then it was as though I had hit a brick wall, hopefully things will start to get back to normal now

Hi all,
Had an amazing day for sales today (well, amazing by my standards!). Firstly, an ebay item I was selling was going for £0.99, then shot up to £9.49 in the last few hours. A few minutes left so hoping it rockets :P. Also got a bid on a second auction that seemed to have nothing happening on it. Then got an email saying I'd sold my first book on Amazon, yay!
So, to the point (finally!), apparently I have two working days to dispatch the book. To minimise my costs, I'd like to send the book second class (its less than 750g so can be sent 2nd), but was wondering if this was against the rules? Thanks0 -
Hi Wings - well done on all your sales, it seems that there is still a few pounds left to spent in the world. My daughter sold 8 CDs today so she's delighted (I'm packing them and paying the postage too, so no wonder she's pleased - bless her!).
I've sold 5 things since last post on Christmas Eve so I'm not complaining either
You can send the book by second class so long as you send it tomorrow but have a look back on this thread for the last 2 days at posts by larmy, she's decided that 1st class is best.0 -
Thanks AT - having read Larmy's posts and based on the fact that this is my first sale, I think I'll go safe and post 1st class. Dont want negative feedback before I've even got started!0

thanks
mike
not as much, i checked!
plus with ebay you have to worry about the paypal fees too i've figured that you can take 10% off your total for combined ebay and paypal fees, sometimes more...
i do check though to see what's currently going then completed sales. i've been able to sell stuff on amazon that wouldn't go on ebay so it's all good!founder of Frugal Genius UK (Yahoo Groups)0 -

larmy16 wrote:I have had a very poor week of buying completely duff books, not worth the postage fee. Today however, bought one for a pound and the cheapest on Amazon was £18.35 so there is light, but I cannot bear to think of all the money I have wasted

Wings it is only for the reason I have had a couple of bad experiences lately (actually not concerning using either first or second), however I am trying to minmise any cause for complaint!
Until recently I used second class quite happily as long as it was dispatched the same day of email confirmation. I have looked over other peoples' feedback and it seems some neutrals and negatives are about delays in receiving. I maintain though that if you have posted 1-2 days, however long it takes is out of your hands! I am not sure that the buyers understand this.
I am a born worrier though and would change my nickname to Neurotic if I knew how!!!:D
PS. Congratulations on your first sale - most of the buyers leave really nice feedbackGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
