Hey Chocs, our posts crossed!
Thanks for the redundancy advice - I've been there nearly 6 years now, so not a huge amount of time but not 5 minutes either. I think redundancy payout is only a week's pay for every year of service, so not great really. Certainly not enough to get by on for more than 6 weeks! I'm going to try not to worry about it until I know what's happening for sure, but it will be in the back of my thoughts when it come to finances for sure.
I haven't found any more items for ebay yet, but then I haven't looked...:o will definitely have a look sometime this week and, if I find anything, will list a few things at the weekend. My final buyer paid up today, so I'm able to post them all in one go tomorrow which is always easier. I've also initiated the transfers from paypal to my bank account as that seems to take ages sometimes.

How much notice are you on? Usually this would be added to the settlement and, provided not a contractual entitlement, you would get it tax free.
I'm not trying to get you to leave, by the way, honest!
You have got a lot done tonight. I haven't been in long and just put the oven on for my tea so I have some catching up to do!Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

I just thought, horror of horrors, maybe in the public sector you have to work your notice?!! Sorry if I just got your hopes up.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Hmm, not a clue Chocs to be honest, I'll have to dig my contract out and take a look. I don't think we have to work a notice period with redundancy but not entirely sure...0

I'm not very awake yet today, I could have really done with a few more hours in bed this morning.
We had to buy petrol yesterday which cost £40  so that's the first spend out of the petrol budget this month. Also picked up some fruit and veg and a few other bits after work, spending another £18 from the shopping budget.
Hopefully no more spends needed today!

Petrol has got so expensive recently, hasn't it? With the snow, I haven't been out in the car much so hadn't bought petrol for a few weeks. I got quite a shock when my little car took £40 of petrol on Sunday.
How was work today? Any more news about what is happening?Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Morning
No, no more news from work Chocs, I think it's going to be a drawn out process to be honest, culminating in some redundancies over the next 6 months or so. Nothing like leaving us hanging eh?
Not a great deal of moneysaving news the past couple of days really. 50p on the scratchcard yesterday - I can't seem to log into my butlins bing0 account but will have a look at that another time.
I posted all my ebay parcels yesterday too, it's always nice to get them out of the way.
I had a bit of a tidying binge in the garage too last night.I broke up a couple of badly made shelving units the previous owners had built in there (and screwed to the concrete floor!) which were taking up loads of room. I sorted out some rubbish in there and had a general clear out. Luckily hubby came home a bit early so we threw everything in the car and he took it to the tip before it closed. There's loads more space in there now but I do need to buy a little storage unit with drawers or something for all the 'bits and bobs' that I took out of a broken drawer unit. Will have a scout round the pound shop place, maybe at lunch time today.
I also baked lots of muffins to use up some frozen fruit and Christmas nuts and hoovered through the house. All in all, guess I had quite a productive evening!
Have a good day all

From what I can see, I should be receiving at least £15 from Quidco in the next few days.
I really don't like the new site, it is so difficult to find things on there.

I managed to log onto the butlins bing0 site tonight for the free scratchcard, winning 50p. I played it on a bingo game and won the jackpot which was £100, but someone else also won as well so it was split between the two of us, gaining me £50.
That shall help the bank account look a little rosier this month!

£50 for a 50p stake is a fab return. Well done :j
I have had a nice day today. Had a bit of a lie in then went to my exercise class. Then I had 3 MS jobs; one lunch and two short enquiries which I am just inputting. I have some charity work I really should get on with tonight. I don't know where you get all your energy from to start tidying the garage after work.
I didn't register for the £10 a day challenge in January because I was away for the first week. And I knew I would be struggling to make much money this month, which is possibly not the right attitude. I think I will restart the £10 a day challenge in February and I will keep a running total for the year. I know some people are just recording the amount over the year, but after January, it won't be so easy to see at a glance if I'm on track so I will keep the monthly targets.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
