£40 is fab
. If I get that from the items I listed today I will be delighted. I put 3 low value/low probability of sale items on until Weds and the two others until Sunday. Discovered that there are lots of identical lots to my best item already listed, so I have reduced my expectations on the sale value. All the items are just sat around doing nothing, so anything is a bonus. And like you, I have a new hobby of checking the bid situation
!
I have a couple of small bets on too. Once your overdraft and CC is clear, I'll maybe tempt you into the world of MBing. You are more than capable. I found the guidance on here a little difficult to follow too. I think the thing is that if there is a little bit I didn't understand, I was worried that could get me into a lot of trouble. However, I now realise what is vital and what is "icing on the cake" or "how to get out of a problem that is unlikely to occur". Anyway, if you are interested in the future (it needs a slush fund, so probably not the best idea now) I could try writing you the alternative Chocs guide to betting. I only do the simple low value stuff so will never be rich, but it all helps.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Well done on the listings Brizzle, hope they make lots of pennies for you!
Chocs - that's really kind of you to offer 'tutoring' in MB - it's something I really want to get into but am terrified of losing all my money! Will definitely pick your brains when I'm able to build up a pot of dosh to start off with - thanks so much. :A I have read the guide a few times and I *sort of * understand, but just know I'd do something wrong and lose it all!
How's the listings going? How many times have you checked them this morning then?!? I'm on my third look and they haven't changed yet...:rotfl:0 -
The nuisance ebayer has replied, saying she will send the item back for a refund...:mad::mad: so that's £17 out of my ebay fund. It will re-sell hopefully, but I could do without the hassle.
On a more positive note, one of the items I listed on the notice board at work sold within 20 minutes, netting us £20.Makes me think I should've asked for more, but at least it's out of the way. It belonged to hubby, and was something that he liked quite a lot but we had nowhere to put it, so I shall give him the £20 when I receive it.
No email from JJoy yet declining our withdrawal but I'm waiting for it...

I really don't want to speak too soon, but checking the J.joy website, it says my withdrawal is successful... we'll see when it hits my bank account.
I've addressed most of the ebay parcels tonight, ready for posting tomorrow. One person still hasn't paid :mad::mad: (there's always one!) so I can't send that one yet.
I also transferred £30 from my paypal account to the bank this morning, the rest I'll do as and when it comes in.

Hello DFSD
I had a late finish at work, but been home about half an hour and might have peeked at Ebay twice! My best item has a bid of £30 and 7 watchers. There are 2 watchers on an item for £2 and nil on the rest.
I got allocated a very nice MS today, so I'm really chuffed. I've applied for a few more too. It has been quiet on the MS front and I had to cancel a couple last week in the bad weather, so nice to get a few in the diary.
One possible reassurance on the MB is that on a lay bet, you have to pledge all the money up front (i.e. you have to have sufficient funds in your account to meet the cost if your bet loses). So if you calculate you need £50 in there, you can always withdraw the rest of your balance so it is not possible to accidentally stake more than you intended. I hope that makes sense. Anyway, no more on the MB front for now.
Hope the JPJ money appears - I have my fingers and toes crossed for you. I tried a scary casino late last year. Way out of my league, really, with loads of games I hadn't heard of and the propensity to lose a lot of money. Anyway, did it through Quidco and the money has been received this month (£35). I also amazingly managed not to lose all my money. I only discovered last week there was a balance still in there. I had such a palaver with the withdrawal request, I thought it was going to get refused, but I got a confirmation today so a bit more money on its way.
Now just got the small matter of getting rid of an unwanted admirer. Apparently 4 unreturned calls/voicemails isn't enough of a hint (I haven't even been out with him). I think I prefer ebaying!Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Simple..... EBAY HIM! EBay your secret admirer!!! You never know, you could be onto a winner - if there's no romantic potential, think of the earnings potential!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
£30 is an excellent bid considering you only listed yesterday, I'd be checking that baby a hundred times a day if it was me! Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it) we have internet access at work, so I've checked ebay *ahem* a few times today...:o
The MS sounds good, glad you've had a few come your way after missing the others because of the snow. Great surprise about the casino dosh too, don't you love it when you unexpectedly find money you forgot you had - like finding a tenner in your purse that you'd forgotten about - only happened to me once, mind!0 -
Ah, but now the free listing day is over, he would cost me 10p :rotfl:
Maybe if I put him on buy it now for £5 he would get the messageMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Just to say I may be going AWOL for a while again.
I had the horrible news this morning that my Mum was taken to hospital in agony again overnight. I'm not sure what the situation is yet, but I shall have to wait to hear from my Dad later on. I find it difficult to concentrate on much else at these times so I may not be on here for a while. I hope to be back real soon with some positive news.

Hi DFSD
I'm very sorry to read that your Mum is ill and in pain. I hope that something can be done to help her and make her more comfortable. Take care of yourself too. I totally understand there are more important things than MSE, but will miss you all the same.
Best wishesMortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
