  • Ebay bids are up to just over £30! :D Woo hoo!
  • Ever have one of those evenings when you speak too soon?!?!

On the way home from work, I was just saying to hubby that I don't think we're going to be as overdrawn as I thought we were... come home to find our letterbox hanging off the door after a rather heavy handed junk mail delivery person seems to have ripped it off.:mad::mad: £20 later, we have a new one.
Then, we went to get some shopping and the checkout person couldn't get our points card to work so we had to pay for some of it in cash - another £22 gone.:mad::mad: These things are sent to try us as they say!

  • Sold a cd on Amazon for £3.32  - every little helps as they say!

Have also paid car tax online tonight, transferring money from e-saver for that. We now have £300 left in there for the car insurance which is due in a month, will then be able to build it up over the summer as no more bills due until July/August, and then the house insurance in November. :D
  • Good news on the increasing Ebay bids (you have almost tempted me onto Ebay) and well done on the Amazon sale. I also had a small Amazon sale this afternoon. It seems to be my travel guides and maps that are selling at the moment. People must be planning their holidays whilst they are sat inside avoiding the snow!

Did your boots dry out OK? I had to cancel a MS for today as it was in the next town and I didn't fancy my chances getting the car out of our road with the fresh snow on top of ice. I felt a bit guilty cancelling on the day, but the job was taken within an hour so I needn't have stressed over it.

I can't believe someone took your letterbox off. What a cheek! We tend to get junk mail delivered on a Sunday morning. Often he wakes me up because the front door to the flats slams behind him. One of these days he is going to get a piece of my mind. The recycling bins are behind our flat and, frankly, he might as well save us a job and put it straight in there :rotfl:.

Yeah, I always find ebaying stuff a total pain, but it is worth it, even if the fees are high. It is amazing how much people will pay for a few clothes that otherwise would've gone to the charity shop!

The 'junkmailers' have also started cutting across our front garden too and stepping on some of the plants there which annoys me no end. Hubby has suggested laying bear traps but I don't think that's legal! :rotfl:The stuff that was shoved in there yesterday was advertising garage conversions; hubby wanted to phone them up and say 'yes, I would like my garage converted and I was going to phone you tonight to book your services, but since you ripped my letterbox off delivering your flyers, I am now £20 short of the money needed to pay you so I can no longer afford to hire you.' I don't think that would've gone down too well though, funny as it may have been!

Yes, boots all nice and dry too thanks - an hour on the radiator sorted them out, but left a bit of a mark on the suede. Will have to spray them with waterproof stuff at the weekend (better late than never eh?).
  • Most of the snow has melted here today which made getting to work a lot easier this morning. I hope that's the last of the wintry weather now, I think everybody is more than tired of it.

Nothing else has come out of the bank account yet, so we're technically still not overdrawn this morning. It will be a different story tomorrow though, I'm sure.

We've both been organised and got breakfast and lunches packed for work today, and some lovely M&S thai marinated chicken is out of the freezer for dinner tonight (bought whilst on offer of course ;)). Hubby is really getting to be a big fan of having no spend days during the working week, I eased him into it gently!

Hubby is out at a meeting tonight, so I am going to catch up on a bit of housework and hoover through and maybe clean the bathrooms. I don't really fancy another weekend of cleaning, so need to keep on top of it throughout the week.

Also have some parcels to post tomorrow or Saturday morning - the Amazon sale from last night, and one half of that delivery which was wrong (which I should get a £15 refund from). I wrapped them all up last night, so they're all ready to go, it's just finding time to get to the post office these days.

  • Well I have been cleaning mostly since I got in tonight...
The downstairs was hoovered, then notice a stain on the carpet, so got the carpet cleaner out and have washed the lounge and dining room carpets. Unfortunately we've inherited a cream carpet with this house which wasn't in very good condition when we moved in. It has been cleaned several times since and is better than it was, but it will be going as soon as we can afford to replace it - hopefully this year (but not quite sure how/when yet!). I've also washed the floors in the kitchen and hallway, will celan the rest of the house tomorrow night or at the weekend.

I had a free Nivea deodorant waiting for me to test when I got home, so that will save some pennies (and is much nicer than the cheap brand I usually buy!).

I need to take a photo of a bookcase tonight that we no longer have use for, will put it on the notice board at work tomorrow, along with the framed print which I have yet to list. :o

Off to do scratchies before I start on dinner.

Have a nice evening everyone - the weekends nearly here!
