  • I have the day off work today, :j so I'm at home in the house all day - not venturing out in this weather! I need to wait in for a parcel delivery anyway.

One load of washing is done and in the dryer, have a basketful left to do which is on the list for later. Also need to clean the bathrooms and hoover the house through - why is there always stuff to clean?!

10p & 25p on the scratchcards this morning and 'won' 10 free spins on the jackp0t joy game, gaining me 80p  this morning.

I need to do some surveys today as have been neglecting these, also sort and photograph ebay stuff which I STILL haven't done yet. :o

My Mum's not too well again presently and the worrying has set in big time, so keeping busy and trying to keep my thoughts occupied with other things is the name of the game today. :( I also didn't sleep too well last night for thinking about all sorts of things, plus I got up at 4am and put the heating on as it was so cold and I was worried about pipes and things freezing! So all in all, not feeling particularly motivated to do the jobs I need to do today...

  • Rant warning:

Ok, so I actually took the day off today specifically to wait in for a delivery, just had a message on my phone to say they won't be coming, they'll be coming on Monday instead.:mad::mad: Bl00dy home delivery network are useless! 4 out of 5 deliveries we receive from them are complicated. So, I've had to phone them up to say, actually, some of us have to work for a living and are not at home every day of the week, and no, Monday is not convenient... goodness knows when it'll turn up and I will have to check what day I can get off next week now... What a waste of annual leave!

    Rant over!

On a more positive note, I've cleaned the bathrooms through, am on the third load of washing and have changed the bedding in our room, ready to wash next. Am having a quick cuppa, then will get onto dusting and general wiping-down-ness. Finishing with the hoover later to mop up all the dust! Trouble with all this cleaning is you notice how much DIY/Painting you need to do on the way round... :o

  • ANOTHER RANT:

Just chased a second delivery for something we ordered way back in December... after being cut off the first time, on second call was told by a ditzy sales person that she thinks she's found the problem... one item is out of stock - shame they let me order it and took the money out weeks ago for it then! Told her to cancel the lot... and email me with confirmation.. her reply: " I'll try to do that later today but I am very busy."

I did well. I counted to ten first...

AGAIN, on a positive, it will be £40+ back in our bank account that will minimise the overdraft a little more. Methinks I may have to chase up this refund though, I'm not relying on the 'clued-up:rolleyes:' sales person to actually remember to do it.

    AND BREATHE...

I'm at home today wasting a day of holiday too. My dd's nursery has been either closed ot closing early all week due to the snow and weather conditions, so I have been juggling work and childcare around. Today we had a hospital appt, but the roads are too icy so I cancelled it but kept the day off as I thought nursery would be shut, but no they're open as normal, so dd is at nursery and I am at home!

    Ah well.

Sorry didn;t mean to rant on your thread. Hope you sort your parcels and you get good news about your Mum soon x
  • Rant away Yukki! The more the merrier! I feel for you having to juggle work and childcare as you have been, it can't be easy. It's always nice to have a day off isn't it, but not when you could be saving it for when you actually need it eh?!

I'm trying to have the positive outlook of, well at least I've got the cleaning done so will have freed up my weekend! Not quite sure what I'm going to do all weeked no though, especially if driving conditions aren't great!

Hope you have a good day off though X
  • I've had a really busy afternoon - doing housework, completely turning out one of the spare rooms and finding more stuff to ebay / car boot / charity shop / Amazon! I've listed 3 higher value books on Amazon tonight and put some of the lower value ones aside for the car boot box(es):o.
Hubby and I are going to go through paperwork and have a bit of a January clear out and tidy up over the weekend, well, finish the bits we haven't tackled, anyway.

Have also taken a chicken out of the freezer to defrost for a nice roast dinner this weekend. :D

Received an email bonus thing for bingo, so shall try that tonight too.

Also had a survey - looks like I may receive some hair products to test soon. :D

Think that's about all for tonight.

  • Saturday has been a pleasant but pretty uneventful day for us really. I was tempted to go out to look at the sales, but knew I'd end up spending money we don't have and didn't want to take the car out in the icy conditions either (plus I'm trying to conserve petrol so we can be under on the petrol budget this month which will go to the overdraft!).

From what I can work out, we have knocked about £80 - £100 off of the overdraft so far, so it'll be closer to us being £100 overdrawn rather than £200.

Still haven't got round to that ebay pile...:o

That's good that you've managed to reduce your overdraft estimate. Get ebaying though!
