Hi DFSD, I don't often post but have been reading your thread with interest. I love the way you are so organised with everything and also how focused and determined you are. You inspired me to join bingo britain and I was lucky enough to win over £100 so thank you for that. I understand what you mean about the What If thoughts. I have recently enrolled on an Open University course which will hopefully stop those pesky niggling What If's thoughts as I continue to get older.

I have just started my own thread as I want to clear my debts :o I am working f/t and p/t and doing MS whenever I can get any and also various other things to make money. In addition there is the running a home and family commitments that I have. I am not left with a bundle of free time but this course is important enough for me to make the time. It has cost me some money as I was a late applicant (fretting over the cost ) but if I had applied sooner I would more than likely have been given assistance with the fees.

I'm sorry if this is not any use to you but it is just a thought.

  • Thanks for your suggestions and ideas about the career front guys (and hello, and nice to 'meet' you DDFW :hello:), lots for me to mull over later on. I shall try and set some of the weekend aside to look at my options, but my motivation is waning at the moment.

I had an email from the bingo site today telling me they won't allow me to withdraw the £29 - I thought as much - they expect me to wager X amount more - £40, 2 goats and a golden egg or something ridiculous first from what I can understand, the terms are worded so badly. Guess I'll just had to play through the £29 and hope for the best then. It has not helped the bank account at all though. Had to get some DIY stuff for £40 yesterday, and what with the bingo c*ck up we'll be largely overdrawn this month methinks. Especially with 2.5 weeks until payday.

The snow's hit hard here and I didn't much like my drive to work this morning, if it gets to bad again today I'll be taking the afternoon off before it gets dark hopefully.

  • Oh heck, I think we're gonna be about £200 overdrawn. :eek::eek::eek:

Looks like we'll be paying only £250 off the credit card this month and then £400 off next month to clear it, instead of the £325 and £325 next month.
Serves me right for not keeping track of everything - back on the ball next month! In the meantime, I'm going to get that camera out tonight and take the pics of stuff we have to ebay.

Have emailed the bingo site asking them to clarify exactly how much I have to wager before being allowed to withdraw - as currently I have no clue! Looks like I'll be playing through the £29 winnings tonight though... not holding my breath for any big wins!

  • Received a reply from the bingo site - apparently I have to wager a further £69.50 on the bingo to be 'allowed' to withdraw anything! Or if I'd prefer, I have to wager £280 on the slots before I can withdraw a win on those... I don't think so. What planet are they from?! :rotfl:
  • Yikes £69 - glglgl with the bingo. I wonder how some sites ever keep their customers when they have such harsh wagering requirements.

I finally made it back home this afternoon. Progress was very slow at first (the snow was higher than the undercarriage of the car in North Yorks), but it was OK by Sheffield. I'm in the Midlands and it is OK at the moment. My flat is absolutely freezing, so I'm sat in my coat and scarf, drinking tea and hoping it warms up soon!

Happy ebaying. I think I'll be joining you soon, but not tonight.

  • Glad you made it back safely Chocs, hope the flat has warmed up a bit now! Brrrrrrr..... We have the heating cranked right up in the house, not very DFW but tough I say!

A bit of a plus on the bingo side tonight - determined to get my dosh back from the bingo [STRIKE]crooks[/STRIKE] site ;) I played throught the £29 and kept winning small amounts - mostly under £15. Managed to successfully wager £69.50 this way without giving them another penny from my bank account, and then won £20. So, guess what I'll be withdrawing tomorrow! ;)
Also, got £5 on a free scratchcard (bonus money, non withdrawable), so played it through and won £10, so that's also been withdrawn immediately. ;) 10p on the other scratchcard.

Have one more game pre-booked for 10pm, then I shall be withdrawing the £20. :D

Oh, and no ebaying / photographing done yet either... :o think it may wait until the weekend realistically!

  • Coming out with £20 is fabulous - well done :j.

And another £10 too. The ebaying can definitely wait....

  • Thanks Chocs, will help with the overdraft a little! :o:o:o
  • WOO HOO - just won another £30 without spending a penny! That's £60 made tonight. :D:D:D
  • We had our shopping delivered last night, poor frozen delivery guy found us eventually! After sending a few higher price substituted items back, we've spent about £38 - £40 on the groceries which should last us a couple of weeks, bar fruit and veg which can be picked up as and when.

One of the loan repayments has come out today as usual: £216.73. One month closer to clearing it I guess... This is the one that we can't overpay, so we'll be saving up with the view of paying it off early when everything else is cleared if we're in a position to then. Otherwise, it finishes in 2013 I think. To be honest thought, I'm not that bothered if we just let this one run its course - if £216.73 is the only amount we're paying on debts for a year or two after everything else is paid, then we'll be pretty well off by our standards!

A NSD today for me. Just got hubby interested in doing these too - he's started seriously considering how much lunch or 'supplementing' his lunch is costing him during the week! He's had three so far this week, think this'll be his fourth, so he's doing well!

Hopefully I'll have the day off tomorrow, so that's something to look forward to! :D

Have a great day everyone, keep warm and safe
