Sorry again that I can't post link, but am sure one of you who can will oblige again.
Today's IW County Press website has story that Nelson Bakewell, agents for AXA who own the Coppins Bridge site on the IOW, where CEL (renamed Creative Parking Solutions) have been scamming, have terminated their contract with them.

Maybe this should be a tactic against CEL. Find out who owns the land they carry out their parking scams on, and then bombard them with complaints, and point out the bad publicity for them.

Still waiting for my Court papers ! :T

i too have had my 1st letter from newlyn today, being due to have baby anyday now im getting all stressed over it when i have been strong so far. i too have moved home since the first letter. is there anything we can do or complain to about this moron threatening people as its like demanding monies by menace. i dread to think of elderly people worrying about this, i can sit out out even though im now stressing (im putting it down to hormones!). i hate the fact he is getting money for no reason. bring back more prime time consumer programmes to highlight this greedy fraudster.
A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j

Don't allow this to stress you out, you have more important things on your mind right now, these tickets are not real, totally ignore! Good luck with your new addition by the way :)

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Here's the good news in the IOW paper, nice to see a PPC being publicly sacked:

    http://www.iwcp.co.uk/news/news/victory-claimed-in-car-park-row-33881.aspx

I think putting pressure on the companies that are in situ in these Centres is the way forward. Not by appealing PPC tickets of course (for they are just a piece of rubbish) but by sending calm, non-alarmist but informative letters pointing out the damage that a firm issuing fake, unenforceable fines just to make money and serve no other purpose, is doing to their reputation. And by finishing to say that they have lost your custom and that of your family, as a direct result of allowing a practice akin to a protection racket - including threatening letters from debt collectors, mis-stating the legal position - to take place on their doorstep.

And to mrsv05, I know it's easy to worry about debt collector letters, my OH worried when we got our letters and if I hadn't been certain of the scam I would have done too. But please believe the wealth of knowledge here that tells you catagorically that nothing at all will happen by ignoring a private parking ticket. Good luck with your new baby! :)

    Hi taffy,
Yes I will try to find a moment to do a template letter if it helps. Let's all write to the retailers near us (although I have to say Sainsburys ignored my letter last year).

I work in a school so now it's the Summer holidays I only have my 4 kiddies to think about rather than 1400 kids - I am sure there will be a spare hour or so soon. I will do a thread on it in August unless someone else wants to have a go at it first.

    :)

UPDATE - Since my last post at the beginning of July I've had 2 further letters from Newlyn; the first was their "NOTICE PRIOR TO COUNTY COURT PROCEEDINGS" letter and a week after that their "NOTICE OF COURT ACTION" which, contrary to its title, doesn't give any notice whatsoever of any Court action, but simply advises me that the file is being passed back to the Client - muppets!

Judging by the valuable contributions made by members of this forum I believe this should be the last letter I get. :T

    Still ignoring them! :rotfl:

You may get a few more letters from someone acting on the behalf of the issuer however just simply carry on ignoring these.

In some letters they send you, they will even put in them that they will instruct baliffs and even sheriffs even though we don't have them in England :rotfl:
Not paying it will NOT affect your credit rating in any shape or form.

Simply continue to ignore and they will start getting bored and go away.

I will be following any further developments on the IOW with interest.

CEL have been known to insist on holding their clients to contract in circumstances where the client no longer requires their services.
In other words, CEL want the right to continue their scam on land which does not belong to them, against the express wishes of the landowner & where the landowner has informed them to go and make love elsewhere.

Says it all really. You couldn't make it up.

In this case don't think they will have a leg to stand on, haven't they changed names and probably ltd companies ? And if their contracts are written as badly as their tickets and letters don't think the landlords will be bothered much.
