O2 Pay Up Front For Life (merged)

Hi fellow PUFFL customers,
I have several PUFFL accounts and I still use them primarily to obtain discount on O2 Broadband accounts for myself and family. However, there is a 50 minute one that I have used as my main mobile number for the last 8 years. I have finally found a replacement contract (from T-mobile) that I am prepared to pay for and want to migrate my PUFFL number. I am meeting resistance from O2 with this as they are going to use the PAC as the opportunity to close my PUFFL. I will then lose the broadband discount and the 50 mins per month for life (not sure how valuable this is). I am hoping that there is something in the T&C that may support a complaint. I may be able to locate them but I was wondering if anyone has a soft copy they can forward to me?
BTW if I am unsuccessful I plan to use my new number and keep the PUFFL running. I will use http://www.hullomail.com with it in case anyone wants to leave a voicemail for me on my old number.0 -
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I noticed that o2 have unilaterally and without notification added their bolt-on "o2 travel" to my PUFFL account. Whilst this costs nothing upfront, it adds a 50p surcharge to each call received/made in the EU instead of just incurring the (by now reasonable) regulator imposed capped charges for European calls.
This may work out well for some users if they have the right call pattern but for someone like myself who takes their phone abroad in the expectation of making or receiving just a few the short sharp calls when essential then you could get a shock when the bill comes.
You can get rid of the bolt-on by texting "o2 Travel Off" to 21300, free of charge.0 -
I have just checked mine and they have also added it to mine, I have texted them copying your text exactly but I keep getting a text back saying they don't understand the text.0

I discussed this O2 Travel with them a few weeks ago, specifically that they were introducing it by default rather than asking people.
For me it perhaps won't matter too much, as I haven't used the phone a lot, so won't get incoming calls.
So I might leave O2 Travel on it, as a couple of outgoing 20 minute calls for 50 pence each wouldn't be bad.
And I wonder if more than the 50 minutes are used, would it then still charge 50p connect and the minutes at home rates outside the bundle, for example the 5 pence off-peak and 2 pence a minute at weekends. I assume so, but it might take me a while to get around to testing this.0 -

This must be done at least 48 hours before the Anniversary.
Any unused minutes or allowance is lost if not used by the time of the Anniversary.
To subscribe to a new Bolt On visit the O2 Bolt On site here or text the name of the Bolt On to and the word On to 21300 for free - e.g. Calls 50 On. Or you can call 2202 for free.0
