Also got a deal from T mobile that was on this site couple of years ago - when the deals were you paid up front for your phone+tariff then got all of your money back - and still got 1 years 750 off peak mins/50 texts + phone!

There are a few cashback deals that give you 12 months free line rental and a free phone - my girlfriend and I had contracts (just expired) with a Sony Ericsson k500i and 240 minutes/month for free.

Try OneStopPhoneShop (here ) for the Motorola L6 on O2
    Or e2save here
    Or mobileshop here

As long as you follow the T&C's you should get you money back eventually.

nowadays you can get online billing for this tariff - it wasn't available before

Only just spotted this - thanks.

However, they've now given me a really stupid username with loads of numbers at the end, can't understand why it didn't work under my existing username.

Anyone know how I can get a sensible username that is possible to remember?

    thanks

See this thread some 02 shops will upgrade your handset.
My husband got a K800i...No Change of Tariff, it states that clearly on the paperwork, and he has just has his next bill in, which confirms that.
The general rule of thumb is try the shop on a Saturday/Sunday, when weekend staff are in, or try different shops. The first one we tried, said no straight away as they knew waht a PUFL tariff was, the second just presumed it was a contract phone, and we were entitled to an upgrade.
I did grill the assistant, and in the end said you are giving us a free phone on a free tariff and she still said yes.
02 are plugging upgrades at the moment, so it maybe that they did it to meet a store target, who knows, anyway my OH hasn't stopped smiling yet

Quick update - Got my first bill since getting the free K800i and it's still PUFFL.

  • Just thought I'd bumpp this thread so people only PUFFL can discuss the 9845 saga from thier perspective - the other thread mostly seems to be people who want to cancel and obviously we don't want that.

Does anyone have the terms and conditions of PUFFL to hand?
  • I have the PUFFL Terms and Conditions. The important one is

    5. "For Life" means that purchasers of a Pay Up Front for Life package will continue to enjoy all the benefits of this package, for as long as they remain connected to Pay UpFront for Life.

I accept that O2 can amend call charges under the terms of their standard contract, but I cannot accept that they are allowed to remove a "benefit" such as removal of 0844/0845/0870 numbers from the inclusive minutes of the PUFFL plan.

I have raised this in a series of emails and received the following reply today

"Thanks for emailing us about calling NGN's.
I understand that your Pay Upfront For Life package states that you will continue to enjoy all the benefits of this package as long as you remain connected to Pay Upfront For Life.
Our terms and conditions are updated regularly and as per our current terms and conditions you'll be charged for calling NGN's from 28 September 2007.
As per our current terms and conditions, you cancel your contract if you're affected by the change in our call charges. If you want to cancel your contract, please reply to this email and we'll help you."

I will follow this up with O2 in due course (when time permits), and may consider a complaint to Otelo if I don't get satisfaction.

I would be interested in reactions from other PUFFL customers.
  • I think I will have another go at O2 over this - not got anywhere over the phone.

Even if they do charge PUFFLers for 0845, legally it will have to be at a reduced rate. This is because the terms and conditions state:

All other call charges are as follows:
    • Txt 50 and All time 50 are the same as All time 75
    • Weekend time Talk & Txt are the same as Weekend time 300
    • Leisure time 200 is the same as Leisure time 600
    Anyone else get a response?
  • Both my dad and I have a PUFL phone. My dad contacted Consumer Direct and he was told that O2 are in breach of the T&C and cannot do this and we have a case opposing the change. Unfortunately they would not supply a template letter. I wondered if someone has already written a letter and would be willing to share it as I not too confident on sort of phrase to use to make O2 take notice and not fog me off with excuse. I would be very appreciative.

Also if anyone has the original T&C, could they post it here or PM me for my email address if it is too large. Thanks
