Is your only reason being self employed though..?? Sometimes its best to add any other reasons too as they could argue that you are covered for self employment. You say that they told him he would have more chance getting the loan with the PPI. This is another reason too.
You really should not need to use a company as this is something you can do for yourself. What date was the loan taken out?
He has 2 loans - one from Oct 2003 and one from oct 2004. the initial letter stated self employed and strengthening application. They have used the signed an acknowledgement of purchase response to the self employed bit and strengtening application. The strengthening app response also refers to training of staff and states "Lloyds TSB did not lead customers to believe the insurance was compulsory or that the application of credit would be compromised in the absence of cover"0 -

What reason did they give for rejecting your complaint?
I quote " This legal document was completed as a formal record of the loan. when you signed it you specifically confirmed that you required payment protection insurance "0 -
Hi!
I'm new here, so please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place or repeating something that has already been asked. If either apply could some point me in the right direction?
Anyway, my husband is currently trying to reclaim his PPI from Lloyds TSB. We have written the first letter outlining that he believes it was missold because he was (and still is) self-employed at the time of taking it out and that the salesperson led him to believe it would make his application stronger.
He has had a decline letter today, which in a very long winded fashion basically says he was not missold it because Lloyds did training with their staff and he signed an Acknowledgement of Purchase form which clearly stated what he was and was not covered for and gave a 30 day cancellation period. The letter is 6 pages long!
Should we send the 2nd stage letter which basically just states that we're not happy with the response? Or do we not have a case?
Any advice would be very welcome. I persuaded hubby to do this ourselves rather than using a company to do it and paying money for it, so I feel a bit responsible for getting a decent outcome.
Thanks in advance,
Olivia
Hi Olivia
And welcome.
Good luck with Lloyds.
They do tend to take their time regarding these complaints, I know this due to my experience with these.
But if you still do not succeed, keep a them, you always have the FOS, I see others here, Marshallka etc have also been helping you through this, good luck.
My case about Lloyds is actually within the FOS right now, I am hoping this will be resolved soon, keep us posted on your situation with Lloyds hun, fingers crossed to you.;)

Who dealt with your complaint, was it the caseworker who was assigned to your case? I was assigned one but another dealt with my case & was useless.0 -
