Was your Egg loan in arrears at all?? Also is this the actual amount you have ALREADY paid to egg for the PPI or is it an amount that you would have been due to pay had the loan continued with the PPI?

If you have arrears then as far as I am aware they are allowed to do this but if you have paid to date and this is the amount you have already paid out then you can argue this and ask that this be paid back to you as a cheque as you have been deprived of these monies.

Hi marshallka, thanks for replying. I still have my Egg loan which currently stands at £10,000ish, so now with the PPI reclaim this will now be reduced to £8600ish. I'm currently paying £250 a month which is now due to end in Sep 2011.

Marshallka I knew there was something dodgy about you lol.:rotfl:
I'm trying to keep busy today. I have still heard nothing back from Tesco and don't want to ring them up incase I say something bad. Do you think my sending them a copy of the letter that I got from the FOS will have helped my case.

    Hi!

I'm new here, so please forgive me if I am posting in the wrong place or repeating something that has already been asked. If either apply could some point me in the right direction?

Anyway, my husband is currently trying to reclaim his PPI from Lloyds TSB. We have written the first letter outlining that he believes it was missold because he was (and still is) self-employed at the time of taking it out and that the salesperson led him to believe it would make his application stronger.

He has had a decline letter today, which in a very long winded fashion basically says he was not missold it because Lloyds did training with their staff and he signed an Acknowledgement of Purchase form which clearly stated what he was and was not covered for and gave a 30 day cancellation period. The letter is 6 pages long!

Should we send the 2nd stage letter which basically just states that we're not happy with the response? Or do we not have a case?

Any advice would be very welcome. I persuaded hubby to do this ourselves rather than using a company to do it and paying money for it, so I feel a bit responsible for getting a decent outcome.

    Thanks in advance,

    Olivia

    Hola!!!!;)
  • Olivia, you can of course fight this yourself, however the standard letters are white noise to the firms now. You should really put things down in your own words.

As a point of reference their are companies that will fight for you by means of an insurance policy.

What this basically means is that the lawyers take out a policy that will cover the costs of litigation win or lose.

Hi Di, no they have not sent me no calculations, i sent them the letter stating how much i was claiming and they say they are offering me the difference, and are waiting for my reply to accepting this very small figure. They have given me the opportunity to reply or take it to the FO. Oh and im sorry i hope your son had a wonderful birthday. Sarah xxxx

    Hi Sarah

And thanks, he did have a wonderful day, cheers hun.:A ;) .

Well you have that choice now hunni, I expect you will also be aware the high volumes of these complaints within the FOS are very long waiting times, but if the company has made you an offer where the FOS will know about this, yours may get sorted at first stages, hopefully, but whatever youd decide to do I wish you luck.;)

Keep us posted hun, we are with you all the way.;)
