Right, have you written to cancel the PPI on the loan? If you have not then just write a letter (recorded delivery) and send it to say you want to cancel the PPI and then they will rebate a small amount back to you (take this off the balance of settlement) and then redo the loan without this PPI. You should then have a slightly lower repayment and the same APR and also a smaller (only slightly cause being a single premium there is interest on this) settlement figure.

As regards your complaint that has gone to the FOS, you just carry this on and then all these facts would be taken into account (the payments already made against the PPI and the settlement and cancelling etc) if you win with your complaint.

Your current circumstances should not affect this.

    Good luck

Yes I wrote to A & L back in November requesting they cancel my PPI immediatly along with another letter requesting full refund as I belived I was missold. Had 2 letters back saying they are still looking into it. But when I rang the FOS today as want to take it to them they said I need to refinance the loan with A & L to cancel the PPI. Soooo should have A & L have contacted me to refinance this as reuqtested cancellation Or should I have called them and harrassed them to cancel it/refinance ? Thanks again xxx

I would give them another letter enclosing proof of your first letter requesting them to cancel the PPI. This needs to be backdated for you perhaps. Don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you have proof of this.;)

Hi Marshalka and Di - you might remember that back in November you gave me some advice subsequent to which I sent off the "first letter" for reclaiming PPI from a Northern Rock loan. They sent me a form to fill in asking for lots of information that they already had, I ignored it, and today I have received a letter from them agreeing that yes, I was missold, and confirming that they will be paying back my premium plus interest! :j I've complicated matters a little by having cleared the loan in its entirety at the beginning of December (17 months early!) but will be writing to them to ask them to check and recalculate their figures as their letter is clearly a "standard" based on the loan still being outstanding. All in all I'm delighted with the outcome, and cannot thank you guys and Martin enough - without his original article I wouldn't have known about the reclaim, and without your help and advice I'd probably not have had the nerve to proceed - so THANK YOU!!!

Every month for BP Di, . Are you not under a hospital specialist for it. I go to our BP specialist when things are really bad. They do not mess around. I have been hospitalised 4 times with it. My kidney is full of nodules too which is scarring.. I would change your doctor. I have been admitted for dangerously high BP and its not nice the treatment.

    Hi hun

Thanks for the BP link as well.;) I will check that out later.

BP is hereditary in my family and heart diseases, this is why they monitor regularly, here in Wales in my surgery they have specialists coming every month, even though we have nurses/sisters as well that deal with this, I have ECG's in the docs but a few times a year I do get appointments for the hospital, this is just for monitoring.
BP is up and down, not worrying high, yet..thank goodness.

Looks like procedures are different here in Wales....
