I am dishing out advice and then not taking it myself....lol

Just rang Lloyds about my complaint with them for the rebate issues and was told that its only just been allocated to her and she will get back asap. If it takes longer than 8 weeks she said they will write and let me know and that I will then have the option of going to the FOS.

Just wanted them to know I will not give up....;)

lol :rotfl: its really hard to keep quiet when you call them and even harder to keep writing letters when they waste your time.

I think we should be able to call in the Debt collectors as they do that when they chase us for money:mad:

Think these companies are trained to be obstructive

I totally agree...When I think about all the grief they caused me over the years..ARRRGGHHH. I just wish that somebody would have the you know whats to just tell ALL these banks etc...that everyone should get their money back. It is all very frustrating isn't it.

Even when you end up going the FSA ,OFT, ICO, FOS its always a struggle, it just does not seem to get any easier.

But justice will prevail in the end and all that stress and grief would have been worth it.

I've said before you have all these rules and regs but don't think any of them are listened to or used:confused:

Was just thinking if we call them everyday 30 times a day (costly though), I wonder if they would start sending us harassment letters lol

    Hi there hunni.
They have had ample time to deal with this and its now your choice if you want to move this on to the FOS, did you download a c FOS complaint form form the FOS website hun?

    Check this out here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

Or was it a letter you wrote to the FOS, if so get the complaint form from the link above or ring them to send you this through the post, also get a photocopy done for yourself and send one to A&L, with a letter to tell them you believe they have had ample time to deal with this complaint, where you feel its now time to move on to the financial ombudsman service, and I enclose a copy of the complaints form for your interest and records, please write to me within 7-14 days if you can resolve this matter then I will contact the Financial ombudsman to inform them of the situation.

(The finance company can still deal with your complaint, whilst this is in with the FOS), if you get a good response from A&L, then just let the FOS know.
Also enclose any copies of correspondence with the complaints form to the FOS, good luck hunni and just yell if you require further help here.;)

I feel really stupid. I just rang up FOS to get a claim number for my form. Told them the situation with A&L (written to them over 8 weeks ago about being missold PPI, I wanted full refund and requested cancellation of PPI immediatly) and FOS said A & L can't cancel PPI if it was front loaded - which it was. FOS said I need to refinance it with them first to stop the PPI but I can still lodge a complaint.

QUESTION: Do I carry on down this route : making a claim against them to FOS and copying all coresspondence and write to A & L telling them I've taken it to the FOS. OR/AND do I refinace it with A & L, plus my circumstances have changed (housewife at present) ???? very confused sorry.

Right, have you written to cancel the PPI on the loan? If you have not then just write a letter (recorded delivery) and send it to say you want to cancel the PPI and then they will rebate a small amount back to you (take this off the balance of settlement) and then redo the loan without this PPI. You should then have a slightly lower repayment and the same APR and also a smaller (only slightly cause being a single premium there is interest on this) settlement figure.

As regards your complaint that has gone to the FOS, you just carry this on and then all these facts would be taken into account (the payments already made against the PPI and the settlement and cancelling etc) if you win with your complaint.

Your current circumstances should not affect this.

    Good luck

LOL Marshallka:rotfl: Just as long as you kept nice and calm!! I don't blame you though for getting on to them. Think Daydreamer has an idea by phoning them up 30 times a day till they get fed up of us:-))) I seem to remember Llloyds taking quite a while when I claimed back my bank charges, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they will take their time.

Anyway must go and do some jobs before the little one wakes up, thanks for the laughs and advice and will be in touch again v soon hopefully.

Why do you feel stupid, nothing to feel stupid for.

Normally if the FOS uphold your complaint with them they would ask A&L to change your loan so that it was without ppi from the very beginning.

I would definately complain to FOS
