The FOS just rang(!) and they are relooking at my complaint with Redcats.
Wow that is looking hopeful then Pinknico.......:T :Txx
I know my case regarding Lloyds TSB has been moved on, or waiting to be moved on to the actual ombudsman sometime, not heard anything yet and the adjudicator said he would do this on fast tracking for me due to the current circumstances, not heard anything yet though.
Maybe I should email the adjudicator, the one that was dealing with this and ask if its moved on yet.....;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Just to give you an idea, I wrote to A&L on 30 October. They have still not given me any kind of response other than 'we're looking into it, sorry for the delay'. I have involved the Ombudsman now and have received their confirmation that they will investigate. My refund, if I am lucky enough to get it, will only be about £350 and my PPI was taken after being told it was not an option over the telephone in November 2006.
It seems there are lots of A&L customers getting refunds very quickly and for much larger amounts, but I thought I should let you know that that isn't the case for all of us and mine is still ongoing!0 -
HI hun, still pestering these companies by phone! just phoned vanquis bank now (& I advise nobody to open an account with these they are trouble)re update on ppi reclaim, the lady told me that she has been listening to the tape the time i opened my account & I agreed to the repayment option plan, is this the same as ppi. I told her i will still lodge a complaint with FSO. Please tell me that these are trying to fob me off as well
Just send for a SAR from them. Will post the template in a min if no-one already has.0 -

Hi there hunni.
They have had ample time to deal with this and its now your choice if you want to move this on to the FOS, did you download a c FOS complaint form form the FOS website hun?
Check this out here:
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
Or was it a letter you wrote to the FOS, if so get the complaint form from the link above or ring them to send you this through the post, also get a photocopy done for yourself and send one to A&L, with a letter to tell them you believe they have had ample time to deal with this complaint, where you feel its now time to move on to the financial ombudsman service, and I enclose a copy of the complaints form for your interest and records, please write to me within 7-14 days if you can resolve this matter then I will contact the Financial ombudsman to inform them of the situation.
(The finance company can still deal with your complaint, whilst this is in with the FOS), if you get a good response from A&L, then just let the FOS know.
Also enclose any copies of correspondence with the complaints form to the FOS, good luck hunni and just yell if you require further help here.;)

Thanks DI and and thanks Pinknico - will call FOS and get complaints number to speed things up. hav ewritten out a letter to A & L as you suggest and wikll attach a copy of FOS complaint form. I will let you all know what happens next. xxx0 -
I received a letter from the FOS saying that my ppi case should succeed as Lloyds pressured me into the PPI and has told me that Lloyds will be writting to him with an offer of compensation. But am confused as to how it is worked out as don't want to be conned by lloyds any more.
I originally took out a loan for £8k in september 2005 with monthly (84 months precisely) of payments of £196.22 including PPI. In september 2007 I cancelled the loan and had it redone with monthly (60 months) of £168.39 with an original loan start amount of £7,620.07. Both loans had interst of 16.9%
The PPI works out at a single payment lump sum of £2,279.54 with interest over the period as £3,654.84. Now I was never any good at accountancy but the ombudsmen states that Lloyds have to take the original amount and work out my repayments without the PPI and restructure the loan accordingly from the start date including interest on payments I have already made and any compensation I am owed.
I was also award £200 for destress and inconvience
If any understands this and could tell me if I have any more to pay off the loan it would be much appreciated.
thanks
Sorry to have not been much help but there is no clear way without these figures.0 -

Hi Folks, total noob here please go easy on me
in need bit of advice on how to proceed please.
I have MBNA card taken out in 2003 that they have been charging ppi on.
To date i estimate maybe £2-2500 has been charged.
I have asked that they refund this on the grounds that
a: I didn't request it.
b: I am self employed and the product was unsuitable for me.
Obviously refusing my request and at latest phone conversation the robot advised me to go to my solicitor if I wanted but it wouldn't do me any good (thanks for the advice)!
They have provided me with some documents after I requested CCA.
These consist of a printout of an internet application for card (this has the words PPI with YES printed next to it), the front and rear of a signed (by me) slip which they claim is the CCA. and 4 pages of terms and conditions.
there is no mention of PPI on the alleged CCA nor in the terms and conditions.
The only reference to PPI is on the alleged internet application.
i'm now feeling a bit lost tbh and would be very obliged if someone could put me on the right route as in how to proceed.
thanks for looking0
