    Hi all
Have just recieved a letter from HSBC re PPI reclaim and they have said they will need at least 4 weeks and then maybe another 8 surely its 8 weeks in total from when they got the letter:confused: does this include weekends and also another quick question does any monies refunded have to come off the loan or can you have it payed seperatly?
    Thanks

If after 8 weeks they have not resolved it for you then you have the option of getting the FOS involved anyway. There is a big waiting list there but maybe get the ball rolling if they are not playing by the rules.

tired mum, I forgot to add this.....

You can ask them to pay this directly back to you, although they may suggest this come off your loan.
However, if your successful here and you prefer this paid back to you, tell them that in writing, and the loan should be reduced then anyway.;)
They CAN take money that you have not paid them yet off the loan and any money you have paid them comes back to you.

    Tired mum.... (me too!!!)

If you still have a balance on the loan and there is still PPI owing what they would do is refund you what you have already paid out but take the rest off of the loan and redo it without. They should not put this at a higher APR though...;)

If this was missold to you then you need to make a complaint. As regards cancelling it you are allowed but sometimes it does mean redoing the loan too and you only get a very small rebate back. The interest is payable over the whole term of the loan too.

Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the template letter. Its always best to do your own from this. There are lots of reason on there for the misselling so pick out the ones that are applicable to yours.

You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.

After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.

    Good luck
Thanks for reply. So Shall I leave the loan as it is. Send the letter and wait and go from there and Do I go to the bank now to re-do the loan or wait until I get a response from the letters? Sorry about this. Just want to make sure I get my money back.

Hi Folks, total noob here please go easy on me:confused:
in need bit of advice on how to proceed please.

I have MBNA card taken out in 2003 that they have been charging ppi on.
To date i estimate maybe £2-2500 has been charged.

I have asked that they refund this on the grounds that

    a: I didn't request it.
b: I am self employed and the product was unsuitable for me.

Obviously refusing my request and at latest phone conversation the robot advised me to go to my solicitor if I wanted but it wouldn't do me any good (thanks for the advice)!

They have provided me with some documents after I requested CCA.
These consist of a printout of an internet application for card (this has the words PPI with YES printed next to it), the front and rear of a signed (by me) slip which they claim is the CCA. and 4 pages of terms and conditions.

there is no mention of PPI on the alleged CCA nor in the terms and conditions.
The only reference to PPI is on the alleged internet application.

i'm now feeling a bit lost tbh and would be very obliged if someone could put me on the right route as in how to proceed.

    thanks for looking :)

Call the FOS see if MBNA were covered by them and if so lodge a complaint and they will send you the forms.

    Hello hunni and welcome.

You have a case here I believe and I would complain and reclaim, check this out here
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

There is some useful PPI info and reasons for mis selling, also a letter template letter.

If any of them occur to you as well as your own reasons, add them to the letter and keep is as strong as possible to support your complaint, they have 8 weeks to respond in full.

Let us know the outcome of this in order to move on if we have to, good luck anyway, and remember to post by recorded delivery.;)

Iv became ill on the 5th november 2008 and had a insurance policy that i took out in june 2007 that was ment to cover me in case of sickness ?
The insurance policy was ment to kick in after 13weeks which would be in a couple of weeks time to start paying me out ?
But after a interview over the phone with them this morning i have been told that im not cover and that the only way the policy would cover me would be if i was on my death bed basically ?
I was sold this by my bank and at the time i told them that i was a wagon driver and that it would have to cover me for my bills as i was self employed and after descution with the financial adviser at the bank we aggreed that £1600 a month was ample for what i would need to pay out in loans and other expenses i may of had that would need paying wile of sick till back working?
Does any one have any surgestions were to go with this
I take it this is an insurance to cover your income and not actually attached to anything...

    Hi everyone

I see Di and Marshallka didn't get confused with the "Dreamers" today lol.

Just an update EGG sent me a letter saying they were in the process of retrieving the telephone calls and would send them asap.

I called them twice and told them the second time that I had reported them to the ICO as they have failed to send ALL INFO.

I actually helped the guy put it into an email. Got the letter 2 days later.
