I thought Aspergers was a form of autism and they would have picked that up very early. I suppose everyone is different. It helped then having someone that you know with a child with the same so you could see what things were in the illness and get the diagnosis better.

Going to see to my lot now.

    Back later

Yes it is classed as a form of autism but not the easiest for a diagnosis, one of my brothers has autism, but it is more on the severe end, he cannot speak but makes noises if he wants something, he will be 44 this year.

I did not know anything about Aspergers until I met my mate, and funny thing is Daniel gets on well with her son, but they are not in the same year, there are other special needs there but Aspergers children are very rare at that school, there was a girl in his class, yet it affected her in different ways.

Okay catch you later then hun.;) x

Was meant to post this earlier, so edited to post on here x

  • Hiya We are new to this but some one kindly redirected us to this page We are 5 adults who have just found out our lovely 62 year old dad has lost his job before Christmas and got himself up to the eyeballs in debt being kind to us with expensive holidays and presents over the years. We thought he was earning a fortune . He sent us all including our grown up children to Australia to see our sister and borrowed £20.00 bank loan to pay for it.
We have got together and pooled our resources to help him now.
We will be writing to all his creditors to freeze the interest and try and half the payments We will fight this as bankruptcy is not an option for dad as it would kill him!!! He has no assets and a rented flat. he has just told us today that he took out an Egg loan in 2006 over the internet for a couple of grand and they insisted on the insurance which he took he forgot the password and just kept up the payments so subsequently thought the debt was diminishing, he has just got in touch with them and was shocked to find he still owes the exact amount he borrowed to the penny. He cancelled the policy immediately and we have asked him to get the original agreement for both the loan and the insurance. Does anyone know what our position is for getting my dads insurance money back as he thinks he was self employed at the time and this would surely make the policy worthless.

    Hello there FiFi and welcome.

I am so sorry to hear of your issues above.

I would write to the ones who arranged the loan to complain as it seems they pushed the PPI onto your poor dad.

Check this link out here hun

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

There is some useful PPI mis selling info and a template letter to help you.

If there is anything else in that list on the link add those reasons as well as the ones you have added and as much info as possible to support your dad's complaint.
You can always write to them and tell them you are doing this on your dad's behalf, which I believe would help your dad's case as well, because to me in my opinion he was vulnerable.......bless him.

Now they have 8 weeks to respond in full, post all letters to these finance companies by recorded delivery for your proof of posting, and keep a check on the dates of 8 weeks.

If you let us know the outcome we can then move on to the next step if required, with a bit if luck this will be successful first time round.

To have this paid back, they must put your dad back in the position as if your dad did not take out the PPI from the start and repay it all back to him plus contractual interest and also 8% of what a court would award.

If this is loan is still active, they may suggest reducing his loan, but this will be an option of your dad's I believe, because its not your dad's fault this was forced onto him, where they made him believe he had to take this out.

Good luck and please let us know, in order for us to help you.;)

    Cheers
    Di

Are you saying here that the debt (being the loan and PPI!!) had not "diminished" at all or just the PPI. I cannot understand if he was paying it why he still owed the same after making repayments...

Does he not know whether he was self employed or not cause if he does not and puts a complaint in saying "he thinks he was" they will just ignore it. Also as he took this over the internet then how did they "insist" that he took the insurance out?? Was this taken out seperately to the loan over a phone call perhaps..??

Also could you please clarify what you mean about the password being lost. What is the password for?

Right my letter is here in front of me ready to print, i have looked at my firstplus info and its doesnt say anything about another company like, when this PPI was took out it was with the guy on the phone from FP so does it go too first plus address plz? or could he be working on behalf of another company for the PPI?

oh just had a proper look at my PPI agreement and it in joint names and it says only the first named borrower to be covered!! and also its only for 5 years my loan is 20 years!! is that not right? and can they do that?

    thanks again

A lot of people use a broker for firstplus loans and if you write to firstplus they may tell you this and tell you who your broker was if any. I don't seem to beleive them on this as they told me and others that the broker sold the PPI and I remember it being Firstplus but this then gets them out of the trouble of looking into the complaint themselves for pre 2005 loans as most brokers were not regulated by anyone.

If you cannot remember then I would do as I did and send it to Firstplus and they will tell you otherwise.

What date was the loan taken out??

They can do that and have but its not right....

Have you done your letter already? You could include this if you have not done and also state that you only just realised that this being a single premium it would incur interest payable over the full 20 years of the loan..but cover only 5..
