I am not certain hun, but it was mentioned in one of the posts on this forum, that these finance firms have these uptodate modern scanners, so whether or not they copy from these I do not know, if I come across it again I will post it.

Just as long as you print your name that should be fine, if you want see what others say about this first, I'm sure someone else would be able to confirm.;)

I had taken it as they could scan and copy the signature and add on to agreements, but as said not too sure. x

I kind of wish they had done that to me could of had my money back no probs lol

    Hi marshallka,
I've added the paragraph about the single premiums adding interest to the loan and that I wasn't offered a cheaper alternative, do you mind taking a look and let me know if it reads OK.

    Thanks

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Re: Account number: XXXXXXXX
I purchased the above policy from you on 16th April 2003 but now believe that I was mis-sold this policy for the following reasons:

    · This is due to the fact that you have been fined by the FSA for failing to treat your customers fairly when selling Payment Protection Insurance and I do not believe that my policy was sold in my best interests.
    · I have sickness absence cover from my employer which covers me for 2 years sickness pay
    · I have death in service benefit from my employer which pays 2 years salary
    · This loan was a single premium loan which charged interest to the total of the loan and I was not offered a cheaper alternative

Unless you can satisfactorily justify to me that the policy was fair and reasonable I am requesting a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid to date. As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.

I look forward to a full and prompt response to this letter and for the matter to be concluded within eight weeks or I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

    Yours faithfully,

    Hi Marshallka,
Thanks for your reply. Yes the Loan was sold by Lloyds in his local bank. We have already done one initial letter stating the he felt it was mis-sold based on verbally being told that he wouldn't get the loan without it. We addressed the letter to the main Lloyds Loan office in Peterlee but it was passed to Lloyds TSB Insurance in Wales. The reply he got said that he had no claim because firstly it was a single premium insurance policy and secondly he had "ticked the box" so had agreed to the loan. Well of course he ticked the box he wanted a loan so had no choice. The letter inferred they lloyds ALWAYS give customers the choice. Ha!! Not true. Does this letter count as the first one as it was addressed to the loan company rather than the insurance company or can we write another "first" letter to the Insurance company and start from scratch?

Still continue with the claim ,all you have to say is that it was insisted he take the PPI , he didnt want it as he was in the armed forces and would have been covered anyway. If they say no a second time contact the FOS and let them investigate. But dont give up.
If you win post the figures up here Marshallka is a genius with figures and should help you.
To me this is total mis selling.
Did they give reasons for the no.
    Hi Pinknico.
Thanks for the encouragement am definitely going to take it further now . The reason the gave for initial refusal was that they were satisfied that he hadn't been misinformed because he had "ticked the box" and secondly there was no claim because it was a single premium policy

    Hi Jane.
I still think you have a good chance here or your hubby then, because even all my complaints with Lloyds with their responses say the same thing, and others get the same replies as ours too.

I would keep at them, he has his reasons and maybe your hubby thought it was part of having the credit, I did, as I was not told otherwise.
There are lots of other reasons of why he could have been mis sold.

If they sent your letter to the main dept which is yes in Wales then this should be okay.

See what Marshallka says if you want to as I'm sure she will be along at some point to check the posts.:D

Good luck and don't give up.
