It sounds like you have the upper hand with him lol and these companies are supposed to be the experts, well I think experts is going a little to far. lol
My gut feeling is that he has made his decision, but did not want to commit himself over the phone. Just have to wait for the post.

Most job cuts dont actually make the news, looks bad for the company so they keep a lid on it.

    Did you hear of:

    98 jobs at picture
    150 + at first plus
    45 at nemo

Like i said, not good times for the average Joe...

No its not good for anyone these days. Its scary and it all seemed to start with the sub-prime market in america:mad:

I did hear about the job loses at firstplus and must add that whilst I do not like to hear of people losing their jobs, I have no sympathey for firstplus.

I think as soon as they see a letter ref ppi complaints they all fob you off hoping you will go away, little to these companies know.

Think positive, even if they do say no take it to the next step, its worth all the stress.

Mind you I bet Royal Mail are raking the money in with all us using Recorded Delivery:rotfl:

    Good luck showergirl

  • Sadly so, their office in Glasgow lost a fair portion of its staff. Tough times out there for the average Joe.
I know Tesco are cutting down on their manager posts and are only taken on temp staff at the moment. All finance companies seem to be cutting down on staff these days. Which is sad, as they were only doing their jobs, it is the managers who are to blame and yet they tend to be safe.

Sadly most British banks borrow from large american banks, when they shut up shop, the british lending market literally suffocated.

When they di re-open rates were too high to be competitive in the new business market, so sadly they are ****ing existing customers by not passing on rate drops etc, re-couping some of their six figure bonus'....

Also the british banks dabbled in the sub-prime market hoping to make big bucks and it all went sour. Silly of them but thats what money does to the fat cats and they pulled everyone down with them

Its not even the managers tbh, where i worked they were treatd as badly as us. Senior managers are a different story and dont talk to me about board staff. Its quite impressive how these people jsut walk away from this with out a care in the world and still drive a DB9!!

Leaving all the people who worked their guts out for them on the P45 heap.....

I hope this 'recession' helps us, stops us seeing houses as 'cash cows' and treat them as homes, stop being a buy now think later generation, and generally wisen up!
