  • First of all, I will express my greetings to di3004, maxdp and marshallka.
Thanks very much for your assistance during my PPI reclaiming period.

Now(finally) I have a letter from Halifax and I would like to ask you guys to explain what to do with that.
Should I still go to Financial Ombudsman or not?

I am attaching the letter from Bank.

If i tell the truth, i did not catch what does that mean?

Would you please give any advise with this?

    Best regards.

I see what you mean. They usually run for 5 years. It is all clear now. The cover is about to expire.

Yes this sounds like a front loaded policy so send a letter of to them. If you have the paperwork there then just write the template letter on the Claim 1000's back red tab at top of page. Give them 8 weeks to reply. Then if you post back on here their reply and we can guide you on to the next stage. If you do not have the paperwork let us know here and we will guide you how to get a SAR.

    Good luck:D
sent a letter today and will let you know what they say.
    thanks for your help.

Just received a letter from Tesco PF. At the present time they are still continuing to gather information about my case, and have not yet completed their investigation, but wil let me have their full response as soon as they can. They say that if I am not happy I can go to the ombudsman. They hope that I will allow them the oppurtunity to finish the investigation and respond to my concerns and will be in touch asap.

   Do they think I just got off the last banana boat. This is just another letter to stall me off. Well I'm not having it. They have received my second letter today and they better have some answers for me on Monday.

To say I'm angry is an understatement
  • Hi All,

As the title says, I could use some advice please. 4 years ago I bought anew car and financed it on an un-regulated agreement with BMW Financial Services. The monthly payment was 581.00 and the PPI was £186.00 pcm on top. Now, I have made a claim on this policy as I was un-employed for a short while, so from reading the guidelines I know I cannot go down the normal mis-sold route. However, my issue, is I that beleive I was grossly overcharged for the PPI amount. My reasoning is:

I had negotiated a good deal on the car with the salesman not making much if any commission.

From research , BMW normally offer cover at roughly 10 -15% of the monthly payment cost. I have had this confirmed as I have just financed another deal with BMW Financial Services. This should have meant that I would have been paying between £60 - £90 pcm for the cover. When signing the documents, I did query the amount as I thought it was high but was told that that was the sum and that was it.

So, my question is. Do I have a case to recover the possible overcharged amount? This isn't a case of having my cake and eating it, but of obtaining redress for obviously being ripped off.

    Advice welcomed.

    Many thanks

    Mark

Wow, they are offering you all the PPI back as if you never had it. What they are saying is that if you are in arrears at all with the account (???) then they will pay the amount to you off the balance of your loan but otherwise if not then they will pay it either by cheque or into an account of yours that you hold. :j :j

Oh showergirl, that is so annoying, I know how much you want this one done and dusted and from what I hear of Tesco they need fining for this handling of complaints. I hope they get back to you on Monday.
