Hi - new to the site so hope I'm in the correct place.
In Nov I phoned M & S Money to ask to cancel PPI on loan. This was costing £83.81 per month and was added to monthly instalment making total payment of £370.77 per month. I assumed the £83.81 would be deducted from the monthly payment, leaving a new monthly payment of £286.96 and that this would probably reduce further after taking into account any rebate from the PPI premium (£7040.04) which was added to the loan amount at the start. Have now received letter saying I have had a rebate of £1585.27 which has been credited to my loan account and that my new monthly instalments will be £333.02. I would have thought that my payments should have reduced by much more than £37.75 each month, possibly by £37.75 + £83.81 = £121.56? Am I being stupid here or are they trying to pull a fast one?!! I had a long argument with firstly their insurance person, who was unable to explain the reasons for this small drop in payments, and then with the Customer Services dept who couldn't put me on to their Administration team "because it's not that department's policy to answer telephone calls" - unbelievable!! They are now going to send a letter showing calculations of how they arrived at this figure. Has anyone had a similar experience? I would appreciate any comments/advice.

Hello.
It was from one of the welcome finance's own car lots.0 -
Hello
There are people claiming ppi on car finance, think there are some posts on welcome, I would write to the ombudsman and tell them everything if the company are not replying to you.
Are you able to complain to the ombudsman?
I'm not to sure about mistakes on your agreement?
I'm sure I read somewhere that your meant to give the company 8 weeks to reply back, just looked at the date of the letter I sent and it was 20th november 08, so will give them another few weeks, then i'll go ahead and just write to the ombudsman and see what happens.0 -
Hi guys posted on this before as ive started to recliam PPI from A&L on 2 loans both are between the dates that A&L have been fined for. I have just sent a complaint form to ombudsman as A&L have taken over the 56 days. I have my reference number and keep getting told that the complaints are taken on first come first served but i see some people on here saying they are hearing back after a few weeks. When i first called about my complaint the girl on the phone was rather polite and she said to keep phoning every week and suggested it may only take a few weeks. Does this mean i may be getting some bad news? I was definitely missold the policies so ill be going all the way. Any help let me know if not ill let you know how i get on once the ombudsman deal with them.0

What would you know Welcome are there too:
Consumer search
If the company name has been found, they will be covered by the FLA Lending Code
If the company name has not been found, please check with the company direct which complaints scheme they follow. If you have already been told that this is Finance & Leasing Association (FLA), please ring us on 020 7836 6511.
Query Details: Company Name: Contains 'welcome'
Welcome Financial Services
Thanks Di and Dreamer. Can I just clarify - ~I haven't logged a complaint with Welcome/ BH yet as awaiting docs. So should I lodge the complaint direct with the company first and await response before going to FOS/FLA?0 -
rosemahairy wrote: »write to RBS using the template letters say it was miss sold it was not presented as fully optional. They will say they didnt miss sell etc but keep writing the letters. once the 8weeks are up/ you have a final response put a complaint in with the ombudsman. This is what i did about 2month ago. The ombudsman must notify RBS they have a pending complint because i got a letter from the ombudsman just before christmas saying RBS wanted to offer ahem 'as a goodwill gesture" full refund of all premiums paid, full refund of all interest applied plus 8% statutory interest from the date the ppi installement was taken to the date i get the cheque refund. YIPEEE stick in there RBS will cave!!!!0

They are not going great at the moment. I am kind of wondering whether I am flogging a dead horse - both loans being pre 2005 and BlackHorse/Welcome. I find this whole thing a complete minefield. I know I need to get some more letters out. Welcome have told me they do not have the docs as it was 2001, but do I believe that knowing their track record. Then I have BH sending me current docs not the stuff I requested. Feeling a bit disorientated by the whole thing at the moment0 -
Yes hope marshallka is feeling ok.
My son gets so annoyed when playing on the ps3 its funny to hear him. We were playing Haze army game and we could drive a quad bike, he kept losing his temper because of my driving lol (up the rocks and cliffs) then when he took the control from me he was driving and crashing into the cliffs, had a little chuckle, of course it went down well with him lol :rotfl:0
