Hi there,
I just rang up A & L about a separte issue to do with my savings accoutn which they sorted but then the customer service rep asked if I wanted to get a better interest rate on the loan I took out with them. I said I was currently in dispute with A & L about this and left ti at that. she sounded very well versed and didn;t want to gte into it further with her as it's recorded. Shoudl i call back and negotiate a lower inetrest rate on the loan??? Or will effect my claim? thanks again you atre ALL so helpful I love this forum :j
Hi lalina
Personally if that were me I would leave it there, while in dispute,(but that is me) and then it may still be okay to do this as its a separate issue x
See what the others have to say about this if you want to as I would not want you to take my word for it here.
Good luck.;)

Oh Marshallka That is lovely that he did that. I know it is a sad moment for you but what a lovely last thought to hold.:A:mad:0 -

Hello again, the Alliance and Leicester have replied to my first letter and have agreed to refund the full amount of PPI plus interest :T .
I've got to say i'm extremely surprised as i was expecting a long wait for any compensation, I've only had to wait 2 weeks though:D
Good luck to anyone still trying .
Lets hope Egg can come through with the goods as well:cool:

I don't know if this is good news or bad. My deadline was up yesterday, and I will ring them on Wednesday to see what is happening. Will keep in touch to let you know how I get on
fiistly my complaint was sent to Glasgow and i had a case officer called Alice Lyndness, she then passed this to the team in Birmingham and i was appointed Chris monosyllabic!!!lol he is so unhelpful and when i called yesterday he told me to go to the fos, so im guessing the letter landing on my doorstep this week is a big fat NO......time for a fight
Will let you know of any progress0 -

Hi
We took out a loan with the RBS a few years ago but refinanced a new loan in 2006 to consolidate new debts. On both loans we had PPI as we did not know it was optional and it was never discussed that it was optional.
We decised to call them last week to ask how much of the loan was PPI as, like most people, we wanted less outgoings. As I was covered and I am least likely to be made redundant etc I thought it would be easier to cancel PPI. Found out it was £81 a month but was told by RBS that it was my wife being covered and not me, which was strange as I am always covered on any finance as my wife has an illness that she struggles to get insurance for.
Anyway, we are waiting for the RBS to come back to us in the morning as they are referring it as a complaint and the 'supervisor' is assessing.
We may get a yes or no in the morning as regards mis selling, but if we can can we claim PPI on the previous loan too.
We certainly thought it was compulsory and only found out it wasn't on this website. We will be paying back £38,000.00 with loan and PPI so I am a bit peeved that this was not discussed at both loan discussions with bank.
Any advise would be great.0
