Hi there hun
Yes you can do but this is all done separately to the PPI.;)
Check this out here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/bank-charges
Template letter on the site as well and they have the same amount of time, 8 weeks to respond in full, so everything the same but in a separate complaint.;)
Good luck hunni, go and get em:A x

There is no harm in doing this but on the other hand they may have to go to different departments, depending on how Barclays deals with these complaints, some have separate offices to deal with each claims.
I think there maybe a separate address for bank charges to the PPI section, I will check on this and if so I will post on here for you.;)
Unless someone else confirms otherwise.;)
Right then, edited to come back in to post you the address for bank charges, here:
Barclays Bank PLC
Charges Refund Team
1 CHURCHILL PLACE
LONDON
E14 5HP
Tel: 0800 282390
Not certain if its the same addy as the PPI section, so check first hun, good luck xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

hi
can anyone tell me if it is possible to reclaim charges and ppi if i am in a world of debt and have had all my card accounts stoped, and am just going to enter in to a trust deed?
or will the banks get out of it because of this?0 -
Hello,
Please could some one advise me...apologies if this question has already been asked (i'm new and this is my first post)
I've received a letter from EGG informing me that I may have been missold ppi on my credit card.
The PPI started on 19/12/05 and finished on 17/12/07.
I apllied for the card online so didn't speak to anyone. I wasn't aware that I had PPI, I would not have opted for it intenionally because I have more in savings than my balance and have a 'relatively' safe job. I set up direct debit payments to ensure my card was being paid off and never really checked my statements on line, then when I did I discovered I was paying PPI so i emailed them and asked them to cancel it on 11th Nov 2007. they replied on 14 th Nov and it was cancelled on 17/12/07. I didn't receive any paperwork from them relating to the PPI specifically , if so I would have rung them and cancelled it straight away plus I have asthma so would presumably have had to declare this?
From reading through the advice in Martin's column it mentions that I would have possibly had to opt in/opt out in a check box for the PPI and it is more difficult to claim if you have taken out a card/loan on line. I don't remember what the application on line looked like!
I wish to pursue a claim but am not sure if I should contact their 'helpline' or proceed with the stencil letter.
Does anyone have any advice for me or is in a similar situation?
Many thanks

Hi Derek
Yes you can make a claim on both of these.
If you feel you were mis sold on the PPI and reclaim any charges you think your entited to.
Check these links out here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/
You will some useful information.
There are also templates on those links and they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Its recommended to post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting and another letter maybe required if not successful first time round, or until they send you the final response and suggest the financial ombudsman service if eligible to complain to them.
If you let us know the outcome of these, we can then guide you from there if required.
Write all complaints separately as they may have separate departments for each one.
Good luck.;)

Hi there and welcome, just give me a few mins, as I'm on the phone, but will be back to answer this as soon as I can.;)
Unless someone beats me to it of course lol xThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi Ladybug
Maybe it will be worthwhile requesting a SAR which is known as a Subject Access request where they must provide you with everything they have on your account.
They have 40 days to comply, and post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting and to keep a check on the 40 days they have.
However, there is a £10 cheque or postal payment that you must enclose with this request and here is a template letter most use on here below.
The SAR may supply you with further PPI info which may help in your case.;)
Good luck and here is the template below.
SAR - SUBJECT ACCESS REQUEST
Dear
Re: Account number:
In the first part under the Data Protection Act 1998:
Under the Data Protection Act 1984 and 1998, and including the right of subject access under these acts, please supply me with a complete list of transactions and charges relating to the above accounts held with you since they were opened.
Additionally where there has been any event in my account history over this period which has required manual intervention by any member of your staff or any other person, I require disclosure of any indication or notes which have either caused or resulted in that manual intervention or other evidence of that manual intervention in relation to my business with you.
If you are unable to supply data relating to manual intervention because there has been no such manual intervention then please be kind as to confirm this in your response to this request.
For the avoidance of any and all doubt, I reiterate:
I hereby request that you supply me with any and all historical data in your possession which, in any way appertains to me, including (but not exhaustively) a copy of the original signed executed agreement; statements of account; duplicate statements and/or print outs of all account transactions; all internal and external correspondence sent or received by you including memo’s, logs, notes, screen prints and transcripts; notes of manual interventions such as telephone attendants' notes, copies of stored telephone conversations, internal and external emails; any other information held on any/all types of media in any relevant filing system (microfiche included).
If you have disclosed any information to a third party (with or without my express permission), will you please include details of this in your reply, along with notes of any legal action passed or pending (to include a true copy of default notices, court orders and the like).
Where any information that you provide includes any charges, for example returned payments, late payment fees, and so forth, would you please advise your breakdown of actual costs (liquidated damages) incurred for each charge, and the Term or Condition on which you rely upon to claim such a charge.
I also require that you forward, within the above mentioned time scale, a true copy of the Terms and Conditions that were in force at the time my account was opened, and any subsequent amendments to those Terms and Conditions.
I enclose the statutory maximum fee of £10.00 to access ALL data held by XXXXX about myself. You should be fully aware of your statutory obligations under the Data Protection Act and that any failure to comply with this request will involve a complaint to the ICO as well as potential legal action.
You have 40 days in which to comply with this request.
This communication has been sent Recorded Delivery so I can ensure compliance on these issues within the legislative timeframes.
Yours SincerelyThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0
