Marshallka how is the fireplace coming on?;) :A
Hiya, not posted today but nothing to report really.. still waiting for Lloyds to get back and it should be by next week.

The fireplace is a bigger job than we thought. Ripped out the old one and the gas fire was condemned in September so we had to get an electric one as it was cheaper but then it did not fit properly as my hubby built the other himself around what was here when we moved in. Now taking the other one out and with all the water damage that had been coming in from the chimney and rotted our gas fire it has also damaged the wall too and all the plaster has fell off... . Had it half done today by my cousin... and getting the rest done tomorrow. Had no electric or gas today but I have amused myself painting the ceiling. This little job has turned into a big job overnight but really and truely it needed doing urgent as it was water damaged. Cost a lot more than we thought though... . Nothing is ever cheap. Co-op money in and out...

Also had a letter from the hossie now and the doctor wrote to ask if the haemotologist wanted to do anymore tests for my white cell thing and got to go on 28th Jan. That is one hell of a surprise as when I last went she asked me if I wanted to see one and she said I do not want to send you again and they do nothing so will write to them and see what they say. I told her I did not want to go if its not really necessary as I am not ill as a specific. They have now asked to see me. . This is 5 lots since September and I am getting a bit fed up... .
  • Good Evening All

Hope you are all having a good 2009 so far.

I have a long thread going on the other consumer group (consumer action group) regarding my PPI claim with the Co-operative Bank, and decided to come here also to post about my claim and also see if i can offer any help to people over here.

Ill start with a bit of background in may 1990 I had a stroke which has left me with a stiff right hand and wrist, drop foot and a curvature in my back which is not now getting any better after 18 yrs of full time employment i am now finding it increasingly had at work.

In September 2007 i was made redundant from a very good and enjoyable job so i got numerous agency jobs to keep the cash flow going but that dried up last year due to the worsening economy.

So in the end i decided to go see my GP and get signed off work so i could use the time to get physiotherapy which i really needed as the bones in my hand where getting quite deformed.

This was in July 2008 i am now on long term IB and been told to claim DLA by my GP.

Now getting back to the PPI from the above you can clearly see i was Mis sold these policies I tried claiming on my current PPI policy but was told I did not qualify as i had a previous medical condition:eek: now since January 2000 ive had 8 loans with the bank some i paid up early some i re-financed into another.

Im trying to claim all this money back which totals £16,691.88 statutory or £20,237.13 contractual plus 8% simple which makes a total of £21,856.10

Im going for the contractual amount because of the condition it was sold to me i.e the stroke after many letters to and throw it is at deadlock so i have now refered it to the FOS the co-op bank have documentary evidence of my stroke so im finding it hard to understand why they will not pay me back i can only assume its because of the large amount of money involved.

They are now putting pressure on my current account because of this as the account numbers for my loan are the same bar the last two degits because i have a £460 agreed overdraft that stands at £580 and £380 of that is charges they are harrasing me with phone calls telemessages and letters even a default warning.

The account is in dispute due to these charges and pending the outcome of the OFT Court Case.

Anyway if i can assit anyone i will because as you can see ive had plenty of expierence :D

    Regards

    Pompeyfaith

P.S if you want to have a read of my ppi claim you can find it by searching for pompeyfaith at CAG.
  • Firstly this is my first post and there is a ton of information that my poor brain is still trying to digest.

I took out a loan with Northern Rock back in 2005 and being the lazy sod I am never really paid too much attention to how much I was paying on PPI, as well as what it actually covered.

I'm not sure if I was actually missold the PPI as the sales person was very fast at going through it but he may of mentioned all he needed too (though this was back in 2005), would it seem reasonable to be able to cancel it and should I expect a refund of the previous payments?

Many thanks, and Happy new year :)

Hiya pompeyfaith, I have watched your case on CAG and I also have just been settled as Goodwill through the FOS and also with Co-op.

I have looked at your posts and I also disputed the simple interest with the FOS (who my case was won with!!) and the FOS got back to say that the way that the co-op had worked out my goodwill would be exactly the same way that they would also do this and that if I wanted the actual Ombudsman could be involved.. I did not want this as the adjudicator had worked them this way and often the Ombudsman does things in exactly the same way.

As regards your treatment from your current accounts then I would perhaps contact the FSA about the way you are being treated and ask about retalitary action and treating customers fairly. They may be able to help on this one or let the FOS know of your troubles and ask for the fast track.
