Marshallka I forgot to tell you, Pinnacle says they will also look into backdating for when hubby was on the sick, this was from the start of application, so they have had to have info from all angles which was also provided by disc by his GP to them, this is what they were waiting for to come back, as confirmed delivery 23 Dec
.
So basically its a switch from sickness to unemployment.
So much hassle, I think its wise to just contact Chelt and glos not to get this sorted out, tell them the situation. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks Di, sorry to hear about your insurance problems, been reading through your posts with marshallka, fingers crossed for you xxx You have helped so many on here so what goes around comes around xxx
Yes I am going to SAR them, don't worry about the template I have it from when you posted it before.
I'm researching on the net (it's brill at times like this) to find out about Monument and their plan, it seems a few people have mentioned calling to activate and thats when you are enrolled on the plan. I suppose they do it automatically, then the policy has to be cancelled, they probably just don't shout about it being an option that is already installed on your account. It's up to YOU to opt out, very crafty in my opinion.
I want to see evidence of that call, OH seems to think he only called to activate the card, sometimes it's an automated service, you key in the numbers and your card is activated.
I doubt if he did agree to it that the advisor said at the end 'oh you do realise this is optional, will cost you xxx amount of pounds over the course of your account and unless you have lost absolutely everything by losing your job and on income support when you can't make payments to creditors anyway, or you go bankrupt, or your house is flooded through then your payments will be still made to us' Yeah thanks cheers! wow what a service!
Sorry don't mean to be sarcastic but argh!! we want our money back so bad! :cool:DMP support thread member 211 :cool:I'm only here to get some medals......honest!0 -

Thank you so much toffee penny, your such a lovely thoughtful person.:A.
I'm sure we will get there, I just dread it if it drags hubby down again with his depression......., I think these companies do not care myself and if it wasn't for people like us then they would not have a job themselves as its us that keep them in one.
I hate those automated message things, you can't alway rely on them !
Good luck hunni we support you all the way.;) :A xx
I do wish you luck with yours and hope its gets resolved.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
marshallka wrote: »I think you should definately contact Chelt and Glos and let them know. As regards Pinnacle, did you claim and then had to claim again and it has to be 6 months apart etc.. Well perhaps the payments are in advance and its not 6 months yet or something. It only covers so much of the mortgage so I would offer the Mortgage Company just the interest as this amount is probably near enough what you would have to put towards the full amount anyway. You need to sort paying something towards the mortgage out first and formost and the rest can wait.
Thanks hun
We worked it out and found the statments they only paid out 2 the last time and the last one was Feb 08, its back to day one cover, as he came out of the steelplant when they closed down in Dec last year, so lady on the phone when hubby rang them when he found out about losing his job said he should have tried claiming earlier, it just been so confusing. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Another issue here is that hubby signed on on the 18th Dec, he was first told the money will go into the account for last Tuesday, he rang as it never went in, then he was told it will be definately Saturday as its been activated, again not in and not in again today, so all day its just been phone calls, they are now saying this Wednesday when the job centre are off again.:mad:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0

If this is the case then from the 18th December, when he signed on you can make a claim on the pinnacle I would think from that date as from then on you were not getting any wages. Before that you were getting wages from the firm he worked for - is that right.

marshallka wrote: »So you have made a claim against it already then but only for 2 months. Then that was feb and march 08 I take it and then you had to wait 6 months before making another but whilst your hubby was still in empolyment and not on the sick he could not have claimed as he was still being paid?? Is that what you are saying and now whilst on the sick he was made redundant again but at the same time swapped from sickness to unemployment benefit.

Hiya hun
This is what happened.
When hubby came out of work in Dec 2007, we put in a claim for unemployment, this was then paid out for Jan and Feb, as its back to day one cover, he then found a job in Feb and returned to work so no further payments were made, the company lost a huge contract in June, but within 2 weeks hubby found another job, so it was no point in putting in a claim, then unfortunately in July he was sick from work and had not been there long enough for full pay of sickness, even though works were paying him, they were only paying out the standard SSP of about £74 a week this was not claimed from the social, and of course on the 27 November himself and about 200 others were told of the cutbacks and job losses and were given a weeks notice, as last in and first out sort of thing.
It was then when he contacted Pinnacle to make a claim and explained his situation as the GP also signed him off the sick on the 5th Dec 2008 for state he was fit to actively seek work again.
When hubby explained about the sickness thing and what he was receiving she said he may have been eligible as from August then....to have claimed for this and they would then have switched it to unemployment, they then confirm only 2 payments have been made and the dates of as above earlier in the year.
But now I am checking the policy again, I have mis read this wrong somewhere, but I think after a full 12 repayments have been made then you must wait another 6 months before applying again.......
All the forms were sent out then on the 8 Dec to have them back before the end of the month, they were all put together, so we gathered them all back from employers after completion and the GP also sent them the info they required, this is what they have lost, yet it confirms they received it.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
