Hi You should be able to was it front loaded? Have you got the Terms and Conditions. Where you covered when you were working part time?

Thanks for all your advice, i will deifnitately request a SARS using your template.

re; "front loaded" question - do you mean was it displayed before the rest of the loan agreement application? In whihc case I believe it was.

No front loaded means it was added to the loan so it becomes part of your loan. So you cannot cancel PPI unless you re finance Loan. If you have stand alone PPI it is like on a credit card where you pay monthly and if you want to cancel they will just cancel the agreement

  • Hi again just wondered if not quoting the monthly loan repayments without ppi is misselling as well as not being made aware you could cancel it and anytime meaning it was compulsory for the term of the loan Plus has anyone else had problems with Halifax Loans agreed over the phone around the 2003 period

Was it front loaded. Did you realise you were taking it out. Did you sign any agreements with it on. Was it pre-ticked??????????

    Hi all.

I am going through the Process of requesting my original CCA From my creditors & one of them is HBOS who in 1999 added ppi to a loan I took out that I never ever claimed on.

Its getting really close now to the date where so far they have been unable to produce a copy of the original Credit Agreement we signed.

If we do get this debt written off can we reclaim the ppi as we paid at least half of the debt off to date anyway.

the only problem is that we have no documentation at all.

My post about this is here:-

    Hi Dave

They should really quote the amount with and without the insurance, even though more so after Jan 2005 to my knowledge, but still they should have given you the option.
They should have made you aware of the terms and conditions and the your cancellation rights and provided you with a policy booklet to explain.

I am sure I have read many about Halifax loans over the phone but cannot recall on the year, maybe someone will post up and confirm this.;)

    Hi Simon

So there is a problem then with them supplying you with a copy of your agreement?
Maybe its because they only keep your data on file for 6 years, also I have heard that some may keep data on microfiche for longer.

When was the last time you heard from them hun?

Hopefully they will find them and send to you very soon, where then you can try to pursue them for the ppi.;)

Have you any old bank statements from years ago which may be a help?
