got home this morning o find a latter on my doormat.
"Further to your letter, which was received on 18 September 2008, informing us of your complaint, this matter has now been referred to me in my capacity as a Team Leader in order for me to reply on behalf of HFC Bank. I am aware that your complaint is regarding the application of Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) to your Homeowner Loan.
Having given careful consideration to the information available, we are unable to ascertain whether the policy was appropriate for your needs. I would like to offer you my sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused, as this was certainly not out intention. I am, therefore, prepared to offer a full refund of your insurance policy plus interest charged on these premiums.
In order to offer the correct refund due, a refund has been calculated which totals all premiums paid towards the PPI policy. In order to cover any monetary loss that you may have suffered due to the application of the PPI, an 8% credit interest has been applied.
Please find enclosed with this letter a breakdown of all the premiums that you have paid towards PPI from 07 July 2003 to 20 July 2006, and the credit interest that we have applied. This breakdown shows that we are willing to offer £1,581.53 in order to resolve your concerns.
As your Homeowner loan closed on 24 August 2006, our calculations show that the total costs incurred by the PPI are due to be refunded into the bank account of you're choosing. As a result, enclosed with this letter is an Acceptance form for the amount of £1,581.53. If your in agreement with the above resolution please complete and return the Acceptance Form.
As our calculations were made on the current state of your account, it is very important that you return the Acceptance form by 15 January 1009. should we not receive a reply, we may indeed recalculate the refund, which may affect the amount offered......"
I'm going to send the form recorded delivery
Thanks a million for all you're guys support, especially Di0 -

Going to sign off now as my peepers are closing as usual. Still suffering with the remainder of the flu (and it was proper flu:eek: ). We are both coughing all night like two old folks. I have looked it up and it says this aching and coughing lasts about 3 weeks... .
At least we are young enough to deal with it though. Its must be hell when you are old....
