Hi, wrote to claim PPI back (was a one payment up from job) and received a letter back on the 11th November saying it was being dealt with but then nothing. Is there a time frame they have to answer by? Sent my original letter on the 6th november.0

hi
sent std template to alliance and leicester they replyed stating mbna took over this account and theyd pass it on.basicly i never even remember being asked if i wanted ppi on the account.the card dates from 2001 and i was paying ppi until two weeks ago.i tried to cancel the policy in 2006 but they would not allow it and dropped the cover to sickness cover only and when i cancelled it two weeks ago it took about 20 minutes to presuade them to let me cancel.anyway ive recieved my responce today stating i asked for the ppi cover and any medical conditions i had or have would not affect the policy and also this account is too old to complain via the ombudsman service so is their final responce on the matter and they will not enter intoany further correspondance.is this the case or are they fobbing me off.
thanks kaz0 -
Hello all, looking back through my FSCS papers it says that it can take up to 6 months or more to find a company in default, then up to 6 months or more to investigate the claim!
Will have to try and put this to the back of my mind, its going to be a long wait !!DS1 12/10/04

Have you applied for the fast track here on this one. I know they only fast track most of the time for benefits but this is where i completely disaprove. There are so many other cases that need fast tracking too and although people on benefits are not so well off its just the same for someone with lots of outgoings and no money to pay them. I think you would be best to send all this information to the FOS and put in large writing "APPLICATION FOR FAST TRACK...
You really need to get this sorted as Council tax arrears is not a good thing and they should know this. Again, this is paid for when someone is on benefits so no risk of anything there. Its soooo wrong.
Let us know how you get on and try not to panic for your own health.. I KNOW its difficult but just have a rant on here when you feel like it and maybe we can help ease it for you.
Let us know how you get on..;)
The letter is going off to them today - I thought it well worth taking an hour out my day to draft it!
I'm not on benefits at the moment, but a lot of my stressing and anxieties over money started when I was on benefits a few years back and I thought I was going to lose my home, couldn't get a job for love nor money and I thought I was losing everything I'd ever worked for. Although I'm in a good, well-paid job at the moment, I still don't sleep whenever I have to worry about money. (The unemployed period is where the council completely messed up my CTB claim - I only know about the arrears because I challenged the banding and it came up in correspondence, "Oh do you know you've underpaid from 5 years back?")
I've said in my letter to the FOS that I've had to be put back on prescription medication to control the anxiety, and also provided them with details of the arrears I have at the moment showing them the monthly payments I'm making at the moment.
Hopefully they take pity on me and just make a bloody decision - whether I'm successful or not, I'll least I'll know where I stand. It's like waiting for exam results; at first you want to pass, and then after you've waited for a result, you just want to know what it is, pass or not!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0 -

Well I wrote to the FOS today asking when I may hear back from Barclays and asked them whether I should send them a Christmas Card cause I felt that they were like long lost relatives, only hear from them once a year and ignore you the rest of the year, and indeed whether to keep them on my Christmas Card list for next year, cause I liked to plan ahead.
Funnily enough I have not heard back from them:mad:0 -
Ha ha!!! I'm the opposite - they write to me all the time. I send them more info to back up my case and I always get a very sweet one liner, "The information you sent has been added to your file". Charming of them!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0
