    Hi All

Just wanted to post what a !!!!!! day I have had today. I learnt that a very dear and admired colleague died today. When working on an acute mental health Adolescent Unit you get so used to relying on your colleagues. When you go in for your shift you look who is on the rota and you know if it is going to be a good or bad day. I worked with this person about five years ago on nights he was a trained member of staff and he was the most wonderful, funny, charasmatic, supportive individual I think I have ever worked with. He loved his family and his children so much, he was handsome. knowledgeable, and what more can I say. His life support was turned off today he was 47. He got an infection and died within a week. I am so devastated.

I know when somebody dies everybody says what a wonderful person they have been. Even if they were a complete !!!!!! people are nice. What I am saying is that he was genuinely a wonderful warm lovely human being and I send all my love to his family children and newly born grand child.

I know this is not PPI but it has been a bad day. I know nobody can made if better and I do not expect anybody to say anything to make it better cause you cannot. I just wanted to share it with you all.:embarasse
Oh Maxdp, it hurts when someone so nice and kind is taken and its not fair as you know. I hope you can remember all the good times and that I am sure he would not want you upsetting yourself with this. Its hard not to be as we are only human... take care..xx

    Hi
We have a loan with first plus and when we took it out, 03/06, we were told to take out PPI insurance this gives cover for 5 years. We are then eligable for cash back of the insured sum.
Insurance arranged by first plus with Barclays insurance Dublin
As we get the value of the insurance back after 5 years is this a missell?

    any help appreciated

    :money:
You have to have reasons as to why you think it was missold to you. Its not missold just for the reasons you put above..You would only get back the actual insurance if you never made a claim and also its only the insurance sum and not the interest on it.

    hi everyone
just wondering if anyone knows if Halifax was a member of GISC as
You could always ring the FOS helpline and enquire. They would tell you over the phone and also the date they became members so perhaps you could clarify it here for others..

No there was no broker involved. I only spoke to first plus. Have looked at the template letter & have a complaints address at first plus to send too so will get it up & running. Only thing is that my new mortgage will be through before the 8 weeks are up & the loan will need to be payed off. I suppose this is unavoidable & will have to be done.

    Thanks for the help :T
Good luck and let us know how you get on..;)

Even when it is paid up you can still claim it back... they may respond before then anyway..
  • I have had a phone call from Tesco today, my letter has been passed to the PPI team & I should get a decision in 2 - 3 working days.

    Let's hope it's a positive one.

Still waiting to hear from M & S
Did you have any success from Tesco. I rang them yesterday and they have not looked at my claim yet
  • I put a claim into barclays for a mis sold PPI. I was given the loan as a lum sum and told i would have a better chance of being accepted if i took PPI due to my age (19 at the time, now 21). I put a claim in and got a letter back about 28th november saying they had not been able to 'asses' it and they would get back to me on 30th december... Then barclays had the cheek to put my monthly payment for my account from £14 to £16.50 a month! hehe i think i shall be changing banks and loans soon... one question, can i cancel my PPI while the claim is on going? Thanks! By the way im new here, first post hehe!

Yes you can cancel it but I doubt it will make much difference to the repayments. If this was a single premium then there is also interest on it and you sometimes only get a small rebate back.

Sorry, I havent been on here for a while - still reading messages when I can!! Have sent an email to FOS yesterday, their reply:

    Message
    Thank you for your message.

We are still currently in discussions with Firstplus about your case and other PPI complaints similar to it.

Firstplus have raised wider issues including such things as Regulatory matters which we are currently dealing with.

We will, however, progress your complaint further as soon as possible

Does anyone know what 'Regulatory matters' mean or include etc??? :confused:Any help would be appreciated
Look like this is the hold up of the Firstplus complaints... I also want to know what regulatory matters means in this case.... .

I am wondering if its about this GISC thing and this is why the FOS are telling people that Firstplus only became under their jurisdiction in Janaury. 2005.

All seems a bit fishy to me.!!!!

    Hi All

Thank you for your kind words. It was all such a shock.

I am today going to get myself stuck into FOS claim to see if I can find out exactly when this is going to be settled. Marshallka do you think the two that they have settled, the figures are correct? I am still going to push because this was re-financed but if they were stand alone using your figures and not Tiggraes it weems to be correct:confused:
