This is like mine with Firstplus and why I have kept on at the FOS about the jurisidiction thing and then being told it was definately under "COMPULSORY" jurisdiction i relaxed a bit til last week when I received the email to say there are jurisdictions issues... I can't tell you how annoyed I am at this...
Yes most annoying....... , I can understand that.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

A secured loan is a second mortgage so I believe the rules here in that link should stand for any finance in loans and mortgages etc.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

have I been had or not?
Hi everyone
We took out a secure loan from first plus in 2006. The amount borrowed was £15000 the loan also had payment protection plan which was added to the loan under the heading PPP Loan for £2989.50. Then in may 2007 we took a further advance of £5000 Im a bit sketchy about this as I cant find the second lot of paperwork so Im not sure if we then had to take out a further PPP or not. We then paid the account in full May 2008 for the grand sum of £24,435.53. I m not sure if I have been taken for a ride or if I am just badly bruised by this. So I was wondering if there is anyone out there who might be able to advise me.
For info I never missed a payment so between oct 2006 till May 2007 I paid £178.12 a month then from May 2007 £245 a month. The loan was over a period of 180 mths.
what I do know is that I will never ever take out a secured loan again
Ta very much

Hi all, i haven't been on for a while. Wondered if any one has experienced the delays with FOS that I am. Got 3 clains with them, Barclays and 2 with Egg cards that were logged nearly a year ago. They are all wiating for adjudicators. All FOS will say to me is that once they are allocated they will let me know. Has anyone experienced the same sort of delays and once they are allocated how long do they take to give an answer, they've recieved all the files from Barclays and Egg. Thanks. Well done Liani.0

Hi there again Marie
I am sure you will get more replies on here later if not by the morning.
Do you feel you were mis sold the PPI hun, was it automatically added to the loan and obviously put into one whole costly repayment?
I would check this link out here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Check it out and if any of this mis selling occurs to you then I would reclaim on them.
Now the first loan who arranged this, was it a broker or was it direct by the lender?
The 2nd one as it is a loan advance you would have to write to the lender.
You may have 2 different complaints here of mis selling.
Write to them and also ask them for a copy of a written breakdown of settlement calculations on the first loan, this can then be worked out at a later date.
Now on that link above there is also a reclaim template letter, use that if you believe you were mis sold for any reason and add as much info as you can to back your case, and your own reasons, they have 8 weeks to respond.
If you win these complaints, they have to put this right as if you did not have PPI, ALL the PPI plus interest and 8% stat interest of what a court would award.
Post by recorded delivery every time you write to these companies for your proof.
Let us know the outcome and we will take it from there in case a further letter is required or to the FOS, we will help you also from there, cheers and good luck.;)

Hi there
Blimey a year and still waiting to be passed on to a Adjudicator ?
Hun I know they have very high volumes of these complaints but still a year and still waiting is pathetic.
Give them a ring if you have not heard anything and if your struggling financially or if your financial circumstances have worsened since your complaint has been with them, let them know, they may push this on for you.
When was the last time you heard from them hun?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks for that Di.
I do definatley recall on the 1st loan being told that I had to have the PPP, as I recall receiving all the paperwork and didnt sign to accept the PPP. I subsequently got a phone call from First plus telling me that they could not complete the loan as I hadnt signed for the PPP and I could only have the loan if I did. I have also noticed on the original paerwork from 2006 that the ppp is in my name only and the loan was in joint names, which doesnt seem right either.
I have written a letter which I intend to post in the morning.

Good one hun and remember to post by recorded delivery, I feel you have a good case here, and do not back down if the first letter you receive is not successful, hopefully it will be, another letter can be sent if needs to be or it will be on to the Financial ombudsman, see what sort of response you receive first and we shall take it from there.
Also remember that it may be 2 complaints here, like mine for example, I also had a loan advance.
The first loan was arranged by a broker called eloan/Twopart ltd, the lender they found was NEMO, so here the mis selling complaint goes to the broker, and on the loan advance it is the lender as it is then them who arranged the new loan.
Hope this makes sense.;)
Fingers crossed to you and keep a them and let us know so we can help you through this throughout cheers.
