    Hi there moonflower.

May I ask if the ppi was automatically added to your mortgage, before we go any further here please hun?
    What year was this?
Did you try to reclaim of this for some reason? for example, unemployment, sickness etc ?

    Cheers;)

    Hi everyone,
As if by magic from my post yesterday I received a letter from HSBC stating that they require the full 8 weeks to investigate my complaint and will be in touch in this time.
Is this just the standard yarn they send everyone or is it looking favourable in anyone's experience?
    Cheers
    Andy

Yes that is standard they have up to 8 weeks for a full response.:D

Moonflower check my post above, just posted to you and if you believe you were mis sold this or they would not let you claim on this, then check out the link here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

You will find some useful PPI information, plus a template letter, send them a letter with your own reasons to try and reclaim on this, and as soon as you have the final decision which states the financial ombudsman on it, and if not successful you can then take your complaint to the FOS.
Some companies will give you another chance to forward more information before sending out a final response.;)

Send by recorded post as they have 8 weeks, you can keep an eye on the timescales.

Keep us posted in order for us to help you to the following, step.

    Good luck;)

  • Thanks for reply , I took policy out at the same time as the mortgage in
    2004
However I was not advised that it would not cover pre existing illness.

I was informed of this when I became unemloyed and tried to claim.
The payments were £74 per month.

You have to claim from the person that sold the insurance to you if different to your lender...

    Did you use a broker?
