Had attempted with the first two letters earlier this year and still got fobbed off, didn't take it to FOS or anyone else, because I felt low after being fobbed off, basically two sepertate loans from them, both settled early, but PPI was single payment added to loan amount at start, didn't even know we had them, when we searched through paperwork, the first one, had a tick in heavy bold pen, and our signature was light and signed for by us, tick was obviously not ours! 2nd one was similar but was given after a series of questions to see what we would 'wish' for, but we weren't told we were getting the PPi, I was advised in my letters from them that we had signed for PPI although at the time we were only told by the person, sign at the 'x' for the money and it will be in your account tomorrow.
Does anyone think I could still chase this up or is it too late?
Hi Smithy
Go for it do not take this rubbish. Did you ask for full Sar. Question what they have told you. In the form of questions they asked you did you sign your full signature if you did not do not sign full signature in any further dealing with them change it slightly cause these companies have been scanning signatures onto agreements etc.
Do not give up that is what these companies do try to bully and give a load of technical info to put us ordinary people off.
Good luck. And ask again if you need more help:D:mad:0 -
Hi guys......
Feel a bit bad registering here to learn from everyone elses experiences!
I have recently written a letter to LloydsTSB asking that I receive my PPI back for 2 reasons, the first of which being that wasn't aware I was paying for it, and the second being that whatever I initially signed to get my loan, was faxed to me at my place of work and I was told to "just sign it, fax it back and we'll be able to get the money in your account this afternoon"......
I am a reguler reader of MSE but had only recently become aware of these issues, and when asking for a settlement quote on my loan I was told the figure didn't include the insurance; I decided to investigate my situation further and realised I am paying £45 a month for something I didn't know I had!
I received a letter from LloydsTSB this morning saying that i "elected to protect your risk by purchasing an insurance contract for a 'one off' premium of £2,220.77 plus interest".
It went through a lot guff about how they sell their products etc, it included copies of my signed contracts for the LPI and the breakdown I was apparently given (although I don't have it in my package of documents that went with my loan, i may have lost it) and concludes that "You signed the agreement confirming you wished to be bound by the terms of the agreement. A box was seperately ticked confirming that you wanted to purchase the Loan Protection Insurance. In view of the above I am afraid that in the absence of any further information from you, I will have no alternative other than to reject your complaint."
I am a bit stuck for what to do, as I sent my initial letter believing that I didn't have a single premuim policy, and now I know that I do, I don't know where to go from here after reading the guide on the site.
I'm pretty sure LloydsTSB are in the wrong, as I say largely because they faxed me the forms with the instruction to sign and send back and then I went in to sign further stuff at a later date - this may have been for a new bank account that I opened at the same time. I was young, had never had a loan before and needed the money, so just did what i was told to do. I get the feeling the man at the bank saw me coming, a premium account with all the trimmings and a loan with PPI!? Clever boy!
Notably, the box for the LPI stuff was pre-ticked and there are crosses all over my contract where I was told to sign, and my signature is dated 4 days before the man from the bank signed his name on it.
ANy help as to where I go from here would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance, and sorry for waffling like a boring little git!
Cheers again
Terry.
I know others have answered but wanted to get my two penneth in.
Do not take what they say as finished. It is not. Please write and ask for full SAR and all telephone conversations etc. If you need that letter it can be posted on here. Some companies expect you to Opt Out of their insurance. It was front loaded so that in itself was wrong. Take it further and if you need to know how post on here and am sure Di will be able to give you details of how to do this. Marshallka is brill with figures. We are all here to help you/ I have three going on with Lloyds at moment and they will do anything to avoid helping you:D:mad:0 -

i am trying to decide whether or not to go for a reclaim against LTSB.
when i took out the loans (yes two!) i was told each time that unless i had PPI i wouldn't be allowed to have the loans and no-one else would consider me either.
i now know better and i'm trying to reduce OH and my outgoings, i was wondering if i sent a ppi reclaim letter would they tell us to get another bank account as well? are they allowed to?
i'm a little puzzled by the whole thing and was hoping you might be able to give me some advice.
thank you!

Hi I have three Lloyds TSB stuff going through Solicitors at mom and I have not been asked to move my account so I would not worry about that. Claim it back send the relevant letters as advised on here. They were probably front loaded loans. You are not along if you need more help just let us know and somebody will help you.:D:mad:0 -
