Hi,
Do you feel you were miss-sold this insurance, you cannot just reclaim it if it was sold fairly and you knew what you were taking out.
You may be able to go for unfair rebate though depends.
Were the figures including interest or before interest? Can you give a few more details.:mad:0 -
Believe me or not, I have found out just yesterday that I have got PPI on my loan. When i was applying, Loan adviser never ever mentioned about that to me. And I upgraded my loan and insurance as well followed the loan
Any info???
Here are the details:
I got the loan in January 2007, and started monthly payment in April. and still paying by monthly installments.Hi,

I'm adised to bring my post here.
Could you please tell me if I can make reclaim on My loan from Halifax which I got since March 2007?
Loan amount 13.000
Insurance 2167.00
Duration 62 months
Total I must pay £18.106,30 including insurance
I am paying 301 pounds monthly.
Could anyone tell me how much I could reclaim if I can???
Any additional info about how to reclaim?
Whom to contact first,(halifax or anyone else)?
Where could I get a Reclaim form? etc.. etc..
Sincerely,
Loan borrower.
Hi there Loan Borrower, its good to see you have made it here.:D
Right here is a link below you can check out which gives some mis selling reasons:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Check that out and if any of that occurs to you then you can try to reclaim all your PPI back.
There is also a template letter on the above link you can use to help you, but add your own reasons and as much information as possible.
They have 8 weeks to respond.
Post by recorded delivery.
When you receive your first response, and if unsuccessful you can send another letter to ask them to reconsider your reclaim, they should then send you a "final decision", if still unsuccessful then you can take your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service.
We will work on that one if we have to, so if you can keep us posted of your progress of this that will be cool.
Good luck and if you need to know anything further then just yell.;)

Hi again loan borrower, thanks for adding that above, I must have been writing the other post when you had posted that.
Marshallka is sure to take a look later when she has five minutes, and will tell you if there is anything else she needs to know to work this out.
Like the date the loan was taken?
Is the loan still active or settled?
was this settled earlier?
And so on.
All the best here hun.;)

Hi Thanks for that. I was not questioning your integrity it is just that sometimes people take out PPI knowlingly and then try and jump on the bandwagon. If you follow Di instructions and have a look at template letter and sort out your reasons etc. I will try to work out figures for you.
Am having to pop out but will be back in later so will post up then. Or alternatively am sure Marshallka will be on some time today who is an absolute whizz at figures.
Take care:D:mad:0 -

Hi guys......
Feel a bit bad registering here to learn from everyone elses experiences!
I have recently written a letter to LloydsTSB asking that I receive my PPI back for 2 reasons, the first of which being that wasn't aware I was paying for it, and the second being that whatever I initially signed to get my loan, was faxed to me at my place of work and I was told to "just sign it, fax it back and we'll be able to get the money in your account this afternoon"......
I am a reguler reader of MSE but had only recently become aware of these issues, and when asking for a settlement quote on my loan I was told the figure didn't include the insurance; I decided to investigate my situation further and realised I am paying £45 a month for something I didn't know I had!
I received a letter from LloydsTSB this morning saying that i "elected to protect your risk by purchasing an insurance contract for a 'one off' premium of £2,220.77 plus interest".
It went through a lot guff about how they sell their products etc, it included copies of my signed contracts for the LPI and the breakdown I was apparently given (although I don't have it in my package of documents that went with my loan, i may have lost it) and concludes that "You signed the agreement confirming you wished to be bound by the terms of the agreement. A box was seperately ticked confirming that you wanted to purchase the Loan Protection Insurance. In view of the above I am afraid that in the absence of any further information from you, I will have no alternative other than to reject your complaint."
I am a bit stuck for what to do, as I sent my initial letter believing that I didn't have a single premuim policy, and now I know that I do, I don't know where to go from here after reading the guide on the site.
I'm pretty sure LloydsTSB are in the wrong, as I say largely because they faxed me the forms with the instruction to sign and send back and then I went in to sign further stuff at a later date - this may have been for a new bank account that I opened at the same time. I was young, had never had a loan before and needed the money, so just did what i was told to do. I get the feeling the man at the bank saw me coming, a premium account with all the trimmings and a loan with PPI!? Clever boy!
Notably, the box for the LPI stuff was pre-ticked and there are crosses all over my contract where I was told to sign, and my signature is dated 4 days before the man from the bank signed his name on it.
ANy help as to where I go from here would be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance, and sorry for waffling like a boring little git!
Cheers again

Hi Terry and your very welcome here.
I have a few ongoing with these which are currently being dealt with by the financial ombudsman.
You have been fobbed off.
Write to them again Terry as you will need to receive a final response in order to enclose a copy of the final decision to the FOS.
Tell them your still not satisfied with their response, and if they do not reconsider and uphold your reclaim complaint you will take this to the FOS.
As soon as you get the final response hun, let us know and we will guide you from there also.
But these do tend to use template fob off letters in hope that you will not bother again.
Keep at them Terry.;)
I will be back later on to answer any further posts, so if you have anything further to ask - please feel free.
Good luck
