• Thanks Di - I'll go the SAR route first - a couple of extra questions :o)

Would there be an obvious address for HSBC to send this to (assume somewhere with Customer Services?)

If a bank's records don't go back as far as the original sign up form (let's say, for example, that it's 10 years ago) - do they, or the ombudsman, normally fall on the side of the consumer if they can't prove they sold the policy appropriately?

Lastly, in respect of the other credit cards I've had - if I chose to pursue a claim, assume I would need to send a SAR letter to each individual company concerned?

Many thanks - a huge help already!!

Not a problem.

Here I have a few address details, maybe one of the others on this forum can confirm here which one to write to: I think but not certain it may be the address in London..but best to make sure first, or you could ring them direct on the address telephone number added in the first address where they should be able to confirm this to you.;)

The Manager,
Service Quality Team,
HSBC Bank plc,
Arlington Business Centre,
Millshaw Park Lane,
Leeds,
LS11 0PP.
0800 881 155
servicequality@hsbc.com

Write to HSBC registered office at:

HSBC Bank Plc
8 Canada Square,
London,
E14 5HQ

To my knowledge HSBC were covered as from 2001, so the FOS can get involved, there are also other regulators that will be able to advise on what direction otherwise, such as the FLA, (Finanical leasing association), here:
http://www.fla.org.uk/fla/consumerfinance/Consumerfinanceoverview.riv

If you get a problem here, please PM me.;)

And regarding Credit cards etc, it works the same way as the loan PPI, so if you've no information its best to request a SAR, however if its just the agreement you require without all the other info, you can request for one of these directly from them and I think there may be a charge for £1 cheque payment, ask first by ringing them and they should confirm so you can then just ask for this in writing.;) And your very welcome - anytime X
The one and only "Dizzy Di" :D
• Thanks Di - anyone else here able to confirm which HSBC address is correct for a SAR request?

Cheers!
