Yep it was arranged through Norton and the robbin b*****ds that ll be 1st plus gave us the loan. The mppi was a insurance taken out on yr wages so if you came out of work you got £1500 income for 2 yrs. That only costs 50 a mth. After this i m off for the rebate back.Had the loan 5mths the ppi was 15000 and the charged me 10000 to settle.Thats my next step i ll enjoy that its barclays insurance who ll get that little gem.

I have never known so many complaints that involve First Plus...... , okay they were your lender, but they still have part responsibility in this as well.
The more I read Incipience's post back a few pages away I have to agree.

They actually pay the broker who sold you this the commission and I don't expect they told you how much either?

Pip check this out here as well:

I note that it's Norton your complaining about but you may find that site above interesting, Incipience on this site is a great part of that above site.;)

Just been reading through your posts, mine too was through a broker but loan with 1st plus, complained to 1st plus fobbed off to broker got nowhere at all with them, however it is being looked at by a poster on this forum.

Mine was 2004 so FOS wont look at it, however a poster called incipience posted up a really good post which I have been thinking about for days.

We had life cover on the mortgage and the ppi only cover me for life, waste of time.

I bet you will not go to them again for a loan, I know I won't ever. You don't realise at the time that you are really being ripped off, I trusted the broker that was my biggest mistake.

I hope you win here I'm sure you will;)

Yes Incipience post has given me a great interest and of course I have been checking some of my documents on complaints procedures and I must agree, the complaints are of those of the lender to complain to.....even if they push you to go back to the broker....it does make sense.;)

Mind you the amount of times I did write to the lender "EPF", every-time their reply was, "you must contact the broker to complain, and you chose to do so in your free will to accept PPI"........ , but now we know these lenders paid these brokers hidden amounts........that we did not then.......or the amount was never disclosed anyway......

One thing the fos asked was wot was the loan for.It was to consolidate debts. He said the broker should of given us the names and phone numbers of the goverment debt management schemes. The final response from norton said they don't give advice on insurance and they don't recommend any 1 insurance to you.Now thats a load of crap why did we only get offered 1st plus.
I want to know who ll pay us the money back will it be nortons insurance.

The thing that I've been thinking about is the relationship between broker and lender

Sounds like the usual standard fob off response Pip, in hope you won't go any further....I'm sure you will come out the winner here.;)
The FOS can see right through this, don't you worry X

    Yes exactly.;)

Dreamer, I do wonder now if this can be a separate complaint ?
    What do you think ?
    Maybe Incipience could confirm this.

But in my opinion we gave them a sale - where they made plenty of dough on us, okay we know they get paid, but we did not know all did we ?;)

They all talk crap to get you to buy:eek: . I think it may well be the lender that pays out as the loan is through them even though you used a broker:confused:

I was also informed by the broker when I complained that they don't offer advice, I have calls which clearly state he advises us to take out ppi:mad: and also nearly says recommends but does not get the whole word out but you can see in the transcripts and hear in the call what the word was.

    Its really annoying
