Hi Dreamer yes it was the final response from them all and they all included the FOs leaflet. sarah. xx

Yes it is an insult.
I would take move this on to the FOS now, download a form from the FOS site or you can ring them to post one through the post, after you completed them, get another 2 copies, after you send the one to the FOS with copies of correspondence, keep a copy of yourself and send the other one to the party involved, tell them you have now moved this complaint to the finanical ombudsman service in order for them to investigate and you enclose a copy of the form for their interest and records.

(you never know they may still reconsider this for you) if they do then just let the FOS know.

Good luck Sarah and keep at them.;)

We were told at the start by first plus(barclays) that our complaint was with the broker, so thats who we have gone after. The fos said the lender were responsible for their brokers actions under section 36 of the consumer credit act. It remains to be seen if they follow this up by ruling that first plus pay us compensation. I hope they don't cos it may give us all a chance of two bites of the cherry. The broker for the mis-selling and first plus/barclays insurance for the lousy rebate. My opening argument about the rebate is that surely you are entitled to a refund of 100% of something which has been ruled to have been mis-sold to you?????

Yip FP told us that too. Now what I find very interesting here is that although FF were not regulated in 2004 that is why I could not go to FOS, but FOS have actually told you that the lender is responsible for their brokers actions, which I would have thought applies to unregulated agreements too, this is what incipience is saying.

Good argument too:T

You too di, hope your doing well, yes i think they were the usual standard letters, they were there second and final responses, so just waitin for the SARs now. xxx

Hi hun
Not too bad thanks.:A

You can move on to the FOS now then, and lets hope your SARs come in use here, don't forget you can send anything on afterwards to the FOS in evidence as they will have provided you with a ref number, so if you wanted to complain to them now you can, enclose copies of correspondence and also send another copy to the other party, they can still act on these and reconsider, if that was the case and successful you just let the FOS know.;)

Good luck though this hun and keep us posted throughout this so we can continue to help you out as much as we can.;)

For anyone who wants to know about how to deal with the complaints - regarding the Financial Ombudsman Service, you will also find these details on their website of

www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk

email at

complaint.info@financial-ombudsman.org.uk

HOW DOES THE FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN SERVICE HELP?

Aim to settle disputes as fairly and as quickly as they can.

There are always 2 sides to any dispute, they look carefully at both sides of the story and weigh up all the facts.

They may think the business you are complaining about has treated you fairly, if this is the case you are then informed of this.

They may decide the business has acted wrongly and you've lost out as a result.
If this is the case they can order the business to put things right for you, their aim is to put you in the postion you'd be in if things hadn't gone wrong.

STEPS OF COMPLAINING

Try to sort out the problem with the business first - directly through their business by using their complaint procedures.
They have a chance to look and investigate your complaint before taking this to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

If your having any difficulties contacting the business or unsure of anything, let the Financial Ombudsman service know, where they will explain on what you should do next here: 0845 080 1800

WHEN THE OMBUDSMAN CAN BECOME INVOLVED

The Financial Ombudsman service can get involved and start looking at your complaint if:

The business has sent you a letter with its "final response" to your complaint, and if you're still unhappy or;

the business has had 8 weeks already but has not sent you a response/final response.

You register your complaint giving some details and you can tell them by ringing 0845 080 1800, they will then need you to fill in a complaint form that give the FOS personal details and information about your complaint, including what you would like the business to do to put matter right.

You can also print a form from the website:
www financial-ombudsman-service.org.uk

When you call them, they may be able to fill in some of the information for you over the telephone.
They will require brief details of your complaint and any relevant account or policy numbers.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

If your complaint is one they can deal with, they will usually start by seeing if they can help you and the business sort things out.

They will........

Look at your side of your story.

Contact the business to get their side of the story.

Weigh up the facts and
tell you and the business what they think.

For further information check out on the website, but here are some examples of what the FOS can look at.....

Banking

Insurance

Mortgages

Pensions

Savings and Investments

Credit Cards and Store Cards

Loans and Credit

Hire purchase and pawnbroking

Finanical Advice

Stocks, shares, unit trusts and bonds.
.....................................................................................................

I posted the above yesterday if its any help to you folks.....:D

I really miss DI's daily chatter about how her day is going, the lessons with her son and all the things she gets up to. I know it's not PPI related but we all still need the human factor, gives you a small insight into other peoples lives and problems, and sometimes your own problems dont seem that bad when you can have a laugh about them on here.:rotfl:
they think they are dolls.......but they are really TROLLS:eek: (x3)
