VERY long time lurker................ Many congratulations, all that struggling when you were due this money means you have worked you a** to pay this debt. A great start to 2009 and your new life. Good luck with whatever you decide to do in the future I am looking forward to viewing your future success from afar. Onwards and upwards.0 -
Thank you for all the kind messages everyone. They really mean a lot
Still not decided what to do with the money. Was looking at a few cars (and basses lol!) last night and in all seriousness I think I'm going to put off getting a car for a while. I'm mainly concerned about the safety and reliability of a 2nd hand car (I've never had one go right!) especially with the girls.. and also running costs especially when I'm living on benefits until the girls go to school. (:() So I think for the time being at least I'm going to set aside the car idea as much as I want one.

I hope the dreaded TCs don't change their mind and want it back! You know better than most what a c0ck up they can be! Get yourself an ISA or high int acc to put it in and enjoy it!x'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -

Excellent news then!
Totally get it about the car..... I have an old car, and *touch wood* its only broken down once since I bought it (and before I had DS), but we are lucky that MiL/FiL/Dad are always local if we do break down, and we have a mechanic very close to us who is very reliable. If you and Ste can carry on sharing the car for now, then saving for a half decent one is a good idea.... in the mean time, bass shopping!'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
