A wee splurge is highly appropriate to mark the occasion for you and your family BUT do it the MSE way and set aside a sum now that you will use for your splurge and don't go beyond that. Otherwise it easy to say I'll have this and that and before you know it lots of little things add up, I know I am preaching to the converted saying that but...I like to state the obvious he he0

i know what you mean about being a bit lost without the something to aim for... i'm not near it yet but i do worry whether i will derive as much satisfaction from saving as i do from clearing debt... and then if i have savings will i beat myself up when i spend them....
Enjoy this day....! and remember the feelings!!
What are you gonna do with the world famous white board now??

:j Well done. I have popped into your threads over the last 18 months and seen how you have consistently managed your resources to enable you to pay off your debts. You have done a great job, and I just wish I was blessed with half of your resolve and self denial.
That the last bit has legitimately came your way as arrears of a benefit entitlement is neither here nor there. It was you that whittled the bulk of your debt away over a number of years.
For what its worth, having a little 'rainy day' money is a lovely feeling. Like a cosy blanket. I have a good memory:o .0
