I am... well I would be if we could get it together to register the child and put in the CB claim form. Little Lily-Anne was born on the 19th Nov at 5.41 am 8lbs 1/2 oz.:A

Toto - congrats on Lily-Anne!!!
IA - well done on becoming debt free! You must be / should be very proud of your achievement, it has been an epic journey, but that determination has certainly paid off. Maybe your next challenge should be a savings challenge, so that you have got some 'rainy day / treats' funds & therefore don't have to feel guilty about spending money, and possibly you could have an IA new car saving fund. Knowing your determination, you'll have saved up enough for a decent car in no time!0 -

Hi IA,
Biggest massive congratulations on being debt free at last. I hope it is everything you wished it would be!
Just to echo everyone else tho, try and stash some of this in a saving account. Just from personal experience, my OH received a letter about 2 days ago from the funkwits at HMRC, stating that he owes £1000 of tax credit overpayments from about 3 years ago. They had overpaid him at the time, which he checked and double checked with them that it was due, and they told him several times it was. So he spent it with his GF of the time.
About 6 months later they asked for it back, and he has been paying it back, but they still can't decide how much he owes, and are now asking for this £1,000 from him and his ex, even though during the period it relates to he wasn't with her or living with her.
Sorry to vent, but things like this drive me crazy.
