From November to February I used 132 units or just over 10 a week. My gas bill came in at £67 for the quarter.
I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

  • It would be so much easier to understand if the energy companys said
how much they where cutting in pence per unit, not percentage
you could tell at glance who is cheapest, does anyone know who is charging what. £400 last quarter

all electric, £80 a month or 960 a year whole house - no gas bill

Switched to EDF from Eon as Eon didn't allow me to overpay my DD and wanted their computer to decide how much I paid. All was well until they took my spring meter reading and they wanted to put my DD up to £160 a month, knowing this was happening saved the extra every months so was able to pay off and move to EDF who allowed me to overpay and cheaper as well.

It doesn't seem particularly cheap to me, I've only managed to exceed that in 3 of the last 52 quarters!

Can someone help me work out my kwh usage please? After the npower bill turned up telling me I still owed £901 after paying £90 per month for gas and electric for a year I've started to check readings, the thing is I don't know how to convert the readings to kwh, I read the meter at 0800hrs and 2000hrs each day to give me an idea of where we are using most electric but I just read the last three digits on the meter and we are averaging 15 units per day - our house is around 70 years old and I can't remember ever having a meter changed so it looks like its an Imperial meter, the gas meter was changed (I think) so this may be metric (how would I know) and as we only have gas fire on in summer we are using just one unit per day. There's a calorific value of 39.400 on my gas bill, sorry to sound so dumb - but I don't understand what formula I should be using, thanks!

My average over the past 12 months is 35 kwh per month, but in July I used just 7 kwh. Is that good, average or bad?

thats astounding!! sure you don't mean units??
if it's a metric meter multiply units by 11.277 to give kwh.

if it is kwh,s your yearly gas bill should be approx £21!!!!!!!!!!

even if your reading is in units it's still very good, we average about 620 kwh's pm and i'm a tight a**e! we are family of 4 gsh, new combi, elec shower.
