  • I can't really believe "Abomb" is that naive. Anyone who abuses an offer like this ultimately spoils it for the rest of us. I may be wrong, but I thought the aim of this board was to help individuals get good deals; not to help someone who wants to get money without having to work for it.

  • U shouldn't let these people get to you. They're just small time people desperately needing money...

I'm sure Dell know what they are doing- selling of old and obsolete stock. If this offer is SME then SME's will now be buying P4 3.2 and 3.4Ghz PC's, not crappy Celeron's and P4 2.8Ghz

Anyway, I ordered one and am awaiting confirmation. As they don't ask for a registered company number or VAT number you can put any company name....

I just ordered one @£175 Time is 4pm on Tuesday so its still working fine.

Wait and see now if the poster who ordered LOTS will mess it up for the rest of us.
I really cant see how he is taking any kind of risk with his cash as they obviously will resell quite easy if thats your bag, I just fail to see why they have to brag about it afterwards.
If they just lied to us and said they ordered one then nobody gets annoyed and they still get their big profit. But to flaunt it in your face......
All Dell'd up ;) several times over :)
  • Just a word of warning(not sure if it's been mentioned before on the forum but if you buy form Dell as a business the "consumer" terms and conditions on their site don't apply to you.The most important way this can affect you is that you can have problems if you want to cancel a business order. They have seperate T&C for their business customers available "by request ".

Also the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations  only apply to consumers NOT business customers

Well it is officially more than 2 days now since ordering my PC but still no elusive confirmation email in any way shape or form, I still have an internet receipt but is that sufficient?

Well I rang them today armed only with my IR number and they confirmed that my order is being processed.

The machines are being assembled in Limerick (I feel a song coming on) where things appear to move quite slowly.
  • I ordered saturday night and have not received confirmation or pdf files, unwilling to order again incase it comes. Also forgot to write ir number down.

    Thanks all!

You have put my mind at some ease now, i guess with the advent of christmas and current offers they are just slow to reply to orders.  I will give it a couple more days and then telephone myself.  I dont know if it was this thread or the other current dell thread, but someone posted about the prices in the public/business sector are not too disimilar to the home/office sector.  Intregued I configured a similar system to the one i ordered for £306 and it totalled £586!  Although the latter did have a promotional 'freebie' so i guess its worth almost paying double! Spursfan I am sure if you were to contact dell your postcode would be sufficient for them to retrieve any details they have of you on the computer, I am sure many people lose or do not note down the IR.
