  • My Dad suffers from osteo arthritis.
Found some great heating pads for arthritis in the 99p shop.
They last for up to 8 hours.
    4 in a box.
    Elsewhere you'd be paying £4-£5
He says they are the best ones he's used, and really help when he's out.

I've had loads of bargains at Poundland and the 99p shop.
Net curtains, engine treatment, Britvic fruit juices, Walkers crisps, cassette converter (for playing MP3 etc on car stereo cassette), batteries, talking alarm clock (egg shaped.squeeze it and it tells you the time),Belkin LED USB cable, CD case holding 120 CDs, etc etc
If it's not a bargain, it's not worth buying :D

My only issue with the superglue is they tend to be use once no good again. I.e. they lock up (poss cos the lid isn't greatly sealed.)

I've tried petrolium jelly to keep the seal still no good.

However this sometimes happens with expensive superglue brands so still think it's a bargain!

Don't buy the Superglue in the tubes. They jam up after a couple of uses.

Buy the ones in plastic bottles.
When you've finished using it, make sure there is still a hole in the tube , and no glue on the top.
You should then get loads of uses from it :)

    Hurray for pound shops!

If you get cold sores, you can usually get proper aciclovir cream in Poundland, which is usually £6-7 in Boots.

99p Store and some others have got some proper ground coffee (Douwe Egberts, etc) which is normally £2-4 in supermarkets.

But never buy painkillers in the poundshop!! Not when most kinds are about 35p in Tesco or Asda anyway :-)
  • I picked up a universal remote control - a 12-in-1 device, I think - recently. An inferior product in Tescos cost nearly a tenner. It worked fine, and I grabbed a packet of batteries for it while I was there, too. Also Maryland chocolate chip cookies - 3 packs for a pound. Great value - I check in often and usually come out with a basketful.
  • I always go to Poundland for jiffies when I run out (though they are cheaper on ebay if you buy in bulk)... you get 6x dvd sized ones in a pack. I've never seen brown packing tape in ours though.

Last time I was in I noticed they had Beverley Hills whitening toothpaste, the decent size tubes - I usually pay over £2 for this in Wilkinsons so was amazed to see it in Poundland!

Also those money savings cans - the ones with the slot in the top where you can only open them with a can opener. They had a few different designs - Bratz, Harry Potter, Simpsons, etc etc. They'd make good moneysaving xmas pressies... literally!

They also do tubs of 'decorators filler' - we always get this for smoothing into little cracks and dents in the walls before wallpapering. Much easier than plaster and it's already mixed so all you need to do is smooth it on. It's handy just to have in. I've seen it in other shops for £3+

I think Poundland must be the only shop in our town that actually does any business - it's always packed, yet the rest of the shops are dead.
  • Toaster Bags - pack of 2! (Poundland)

I've not bouight these previously as I reckoned they were to expensive. Tried them out a few times so far and they've worked fine for me!
  • Our pound shop had men's leather belts! I couldn't believe it, but you could smell the leather and the receipt said leather belt.

    Broadband ADSL filters
    Bottle gift bags x4
    Swing bin liners (flavoured!) x40
    USB cable (e.g. printer)
RJ45 / Ethernet cable (PC to router)

all @ Poundland - wonderful shop!

Why do people buy 'Flavoured' Swing bin Bags??

Just got two fab calendars in Poundland ...each page with a recipe to make up Christmas bags for sister-in laws. One is for Curries - the other chocolate!
