Got some really crappy christmas cards today - 25 for £1 ... great for a few old friends who we have annual competition with to see who can send the worst christmas card! Kittens with tinsel balls won last year, but I think I'll win this yearIn the probably unlikely event that I actually post something of use to someone, an ickle vote of thanks would be much appreciated, in fact I might frame it and put it up on the wall next to my cycling proficiency certificate0

In Liverpool city centre Poundland I bought:
-2 books by Tony Parsons and they had quite a few decent other books
-2 Rimmel lipsticks
-1 Revlon eyeliner pencil
-a packet of 2 stick on cupboard lights (need 3 AAA batteries) and I will be going back for another packet of the lights as I'm impressed with them
-a nice man's tie
-2 small photo albums
-a calendar for the kitchen
-(8pk) Nescafe cappucino drinks in cups
-a big box of cadbury fingers (48 in box)
-Pride and Prejudice audio CD (Radio play recorded in 1940s with Angela Lansbury as Elizabeth Bennet!)
-a double CD ('the roots of rap')
So I was very happy with my big bag of goodies!:D0 -
In poundland today I bought a handy pressie for a chum - well worth the £1 too.
A Camera Tripod with telescopic legs - it has a universal fitting and can be used on digital, compact or any camera. It is a compact design too as well as being light yet strong.0 -
Another Bargain I picked up on saturday was for some new headlamp bulbs:
I was looking for H7 or 447 standard Halogen car headlamp replacements.Nothing fancy like superbrights etc.
Halfords Minimum price £8.99 EACH so I wasn't paying that!
So I went looking in BOYS (discount department store in N. Yorks)
Found RING-branded one for £3.99. Bought it thinking I got a deal, then out of curiosity went into pundland and found they had three types:
H1 (448), H7 447 and H1 Twin packs for ..... a Pound Fantastic!
A Massive 18 times cheaper than Halfords and still 8 times less than a discount store. So I bought some and walked back round to BOYS and got a quick refund.
Well Happy!0 -

I heard (in fact probably read on this thread!) that they also have Compeed blister plasters in Poundland sometimes, although none in my local store at the moment. I'll definately be keeping an eye out for them - they're brilliant and the only thing that stick to the backs of your heels when your feet get a bit sweaty!0 -
Our poundland has minature Moet and Chandon bottles that I thought would be good for stocking fillers - or to drink!! A pound for a bottle of Moet - can't go wrong
I bought 25 of them - a lot more champers than in 1 normal sized bottle lol:T0 -

They have plenty of the Sport ones in the Aberdeen store and as long as you don't mind the instructions not being in English they are definitely a great buy. Didn't notice any champers - might have to go have another rummage tonight2020 Mortgage-Free Wannabes #20 £1495.03/£2760 OP0 -
I've seen the Sanex ones in mine to
I can't remember half the stuff I saw yesterday I went mad xmas & holiday shopping. The store in Newcastle under Lyme did have though, that I do remember is the 'actual' no cheaper copy company Cura-Heat patches but I could only see the ones that you put on your stomach which are currently £3.99 at Boots.
I'm not sure if you can use these for back pain to as I never read the pack, as I was to busy looking for ones you can use on your knees or hands for arthritis.
They also had in Chapsticks sticks (for sore & chapped lips), they're £1.59 at Boots. Nivea lip care sticks in original and strawberry flavours, they're £1.64 in Boots. Neutrogena Lip balm sticks with SFP 20 but not sure on this one as can't find it on site, but my aunt used to buy this one from Boots and used to cost between £2-£3 per stick so had to go mad for a £.O0 -
You can use the Cura-Heat anywhere but must not put them against skin. You must have a layer of fabric between skin and pad otherwise it can cause burnsNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550
