Any electronic leads are ok ie Scart Phono leads.Travel adaptors. Reading Glasses are fine, had mine for over a year.Cadbury Brunch Bars, inc Cranbury. They are from Poland, but so are the ones in Asda. Tracker Bars.Mars Bars from Germany,(Darker than our ones!) Liquor Chocs, Batteries, the huge pack of AA size not such good value. But an A4 card of'HEARING AID'type batteries was excellent value, have not seen the car key type (CR 2032)on sale though,as someone else said on here shampoo, shower gel and washing up liquid is not such good value, poss cheaper elsewhere.
I always check sell by dates, but the high turnaround probably stops that becoming an issue. My local one takes debit card if you spend over £5. Hope that helps if you are going for your first visit!Enjoy!never put off buying a bargain today,it may be gone tomorrow0 -
WD40 for a quid is a bargain as are leather wipes, both handy for bikers.0

My wife works in Poundland and gets really annoyed when people ask how much it is lol, also PLEASE go regularly,my wife says that stuff comes in and out all the time,a lot is bought for a song and are "one offs" so when its gone it really has gone,Books are a good example,my wife does stationery and loves her section, she says the Jiffy bags are really good value and are three times price elsewhere, and good make. Please help them though, people just because its cheap treat them a little shirty at times,my wife says would they do the same in ASDA? but on the whole the concept and very good and worth supporting. They were on the BBC local news here last week in midlands saying how they were bucking the trend and doubling profits and opening 30 stores a year as posh peeps now go to Poundland cos of the crunch!!
Ooh, which Midlands branch does your wife work at? I love the stationery sectionI agree that some people unervalue the whole concept- I find that people think it's ok to knock stuff off the shelves and just leave it and it's a shame if staff are treated badly. I luuurve £ land

As an American (who's lived here for a VERY long time!) I always buy anything with England or British designs (the flag, maps, monuments, etc.). When American relatives come to visit, I give them a massive goody-bag full of souvenirs to take home which would cost them (or me!) a fortune in the tourist haunts. I got some really nice white polo shirts with small St. George's flags on a corner of the pocket, some 100% cotton t-shirts with a London skyline, various caps with "London" and "England" on them, fridge magnets, keyrings, etc.
I've also bought vases, scented candles, oil burners, and pot pouri which were real bargains.
One year they had pedestal room fans - the kind that turn to cool the whole room - for a fiver. I bought 4 of them as they were priced at £12.99 from Argos at the time.
It is very much a matter of stopping often and looking, though. Sometimes I wander in and back out having bought nothing for months at a time.0 -

My local one in Wandsworth is currently selling vesta curries and paellas which are great for a taste of nostalgia. Our dad used to serve paella on mondays and it fed 3 of us, as he added the leftover meat and veg from sunday lunch.
In Hartlepool I found some aluminium flan dishes, the same depth and diameter as my Remoska cooker.
Brilliant.

I shop in our local poundland on a regular basis for many products.
I have worked out on average i save a minimum of 50% on all my household cleaning products and the brands are either identical to what I would buy in a leading supermarket or at an equal quality even with there own branded products.
I was surprised at what I could find in poundland and even happier that my pocket benefits from it.
Just becasue products are cheaper doesnt actually mean that the quality is of a low standard.LK1984
